Not for swimming, but shell searching!

Great place to see wildlife. We were able to see a small shark, lots of birds, sea turtles nesting. Not a great place for swimmers, but really good for finding shells.

Bean Point is definitely worth a visit if you are after a breathtakingly beautiful beach. It took a (tiny) bit of effort for us to find parking and beach access - just google Bean Point and you'll get the local scoop. Waters were calm and clear on our visit, sky flecked with incredible cloud formations, sand soft and clean. We... More

I visited bean point last Sunday and was pulled out into the Riptide from waist deep water! We had to be rescued by a passing boater over 12 feet deep. Beach Rescue arrived 15 minutes or so after we were back on land. Both the sheriff and the beach rescue lifeguard told us how dangerous the waters are there yet... More

This is a wonderful spot to visit. I walked there and kayaked there. Though the point is a bit rough so we got out of the kayak and it was really hard to get back in at that spot because the 2 waters are colliding and making lots of waves

Walking the beach on Anna Maria is one of the most relaxing and communing with our maker event that I do...God's awesomeness is displayed with each trip in so many wonderful, beautiful ways -- dolphins at play, seashells with or without the 'critter' inside, powdery sand, soft waves, warm water, breezy salt air ...what more can one want.

Finding parking is the first challenge. Gladiolus Street, Fern, etc are places to look. Very limited with signs "park between the signs" which allows two cars! Look for the signs on paths for access to beach. We went at low tide to look for shells. The water gets so low at the point that you could walk very very far... More

This location was beautiful and so secluded. The view is worth 5+ stars, but we had a really hard time trying to find a beach access point.

A beautiful and peaceful morning walk on the Gulf side of the island to Bean Point. A great view of the Gulf and the Bay as these bodies of water meet. Due to strong currents, be alert if you are venturing out into the water. Catch a glimpse of dolphins or manatees swimming near shore. Several drop off spots along... More

Really pretty beach on North part of AMI. Park on North Shore and walk on one of several public paths. About a 100 yard walk. White sand, beautiful surf, spectacular sunset. Worth the effort every time. The properties along this beach have a spectacular view every day!

My wife and I walk to Bean Point from our beach rental every morning. Soft morning light across the dunes covered with sea oats makes it magical. The view to the north includes the giant suspension bridge from St Petersburg to Bradenton. You can watch the morning fishing charters go by as the head to the Gulf fishing. The beaches... More
