Bean Point is situated on Anna Maria Island's point, and the waves coming in create sort of a swirl, since they appear to be coming in from two different directions. When we were there, the water was warm and VERY clear, and we found (and didn't keep) lots of sea sponges.

I was initially worried about renting a beach house on the gulf side of Bean Point due to the reviews about the rip currents (we have 5 kids who love the water). I had absolutely nothing to worry about! The week we were there (April 4th thru the 11th) was nothing short of perfection. We had the best spot (on... More

Love this spot. Best sand, but no other amenities if you need bathroom, shower, food, handicap access, volleyball nets, etc. Long walk to beach from street parking and street parking is hard to find.

The beach is very wide now, the walkout point is mostly under water. The riptides are frequent, so swimming is a bit more challenging. The current can be strong. It's a beautiful place to stroll and watch the sunset. However, there are no bathrooms from the Sandbar to the RodnReel Pier. There is also no alcohol, no dogs, and no... More

All of AMI beaches are great for walking but Bean Point on the northern tip gives you a very different look what with the dunes, reefs and view of the Bay. If you like to stroll on the beach make sure you get here.

Having read the reviews of Bean Point I agree that it is a great stretch of beach for families. Not as pretty as it used to be though. We have been going to Anna Maria for about 10 years(will return again this year) and Bean Point Beach used to have a lovely curving cove shape on the Gulf side, gently... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our walk along the beach at Bean Point. We parked at the Public Beach and slowly worked our way past the pier and to the point. There are some areas you can't walk along the beach as it is private property so we walked along the street in the residential area. There are parts on the beach... More

Gorgeous stretch of beach with sea oats and lush vegetation. Walk from Rod and Reel or by parking on the residential streets and walking down beach access paths. No facilities so come prepared. Water can be rough especially at the point so be careful with young kids. Otherwise gorgeous place to relax and collect shells. We saw dolphins, a manatee... More

The gulf side of Bean Point, at the northern tip of Anna Maria Island, is one of the nicest beaches you'll find anywhere. Recent replenishments have made it several hundred feet wide and running quite a ways along the shore. The sand on AM is as sugary as any we've ever seen and the point is fantastic. This beach is... We had so much fun at this beach. It was perfect and the water was great. Great place to have some family fun. We found a lot of great sea shells and got to experience a lot of shells with live oysters and crabs. It was an amazing time. Lots of birds and wildlife everywhere. By the way my profile... More
