I park in the parking lot at Quincy Road and Parker Road (northeast corner) near Sofa Mart. There is a traffic light there and you can then go across Parker Road. I like to either hike or ride my bike, and by parking in that parking lot I don't have to pay to get into the park.

Clean well organized campground as well. Swim beach is usually clean but can get loaded up with litter after major holiday weekends. The occasional ecoli issue can be bothersome as well. We used to get season passes but after the price went up every year it just got too expensive. We now go to aurora reservoir which is cheaper, has... More

whether you are a cyclist, water skier, runner, taking your dog to an off leash park, going to the swim beach or reserving a spot for a picnic, it is hard to beat Cherry Creek State Park. I live close to the park and have considered it south Aurora's greatest asset. They have trails for nature viewing, can't count the... More

A great place for a weekend getaway for those living in the Denver area. You feel that you're far, far from town when you're actually close by. Water activities abound as well as jogging, biking, and walking on the paths. Would also be a great place for RVers visiting the Denver area to set up base camp. Highly recommend this... More

Great place for a bike ride, hanging at the lakeside beach or camping. Close to the city, but yet apart.

I love this place! It's amazingly huge and great to run out all that puppy energy. They renovated the area by the creek and it looks gorgeous! It's a great place to get your workout in with your dog. I especially like it because I can't run with my dog on leash, so the off leash area is great for... More

This is a getaway right in the middle of a large city. When you are in the park you forget that there are houses, shopping centers and freeways near. Deer, turkeys and coyotes aree all around you. Sites are well spaced and level. Staff is friendly and always ready ti assist you. Love this park.

Love Cherry Creek State Park. This park is located in the center of the city (Parker road and Quincy) not far from major Denver metro suburbs. This wonderful state park is very peaceful and super relaxing. This park has something for everyone...running trails, biking trails, campground, a shooting range, beach for swimming and a marina with lots of water related... More

$9 without a dog and $11 with and no military discount. Aurora and Denver have other locations that don't have that cost, to do similar activities. Not a fan of the separate fee when attending other attractions inside the park.

If you can't get out of the city, this is the next best thing. The natural prairie environment with distant mountain views might make you forget you are in a city of 2 million people. There are lots of wildlife that you wouldn't think would be here this close to subdivisions and shopping centers. We have seen foxes, cyotes, prairie... More
