NICE ESCAPE

Nice place to escape the City and spend the day on the water boating and fishing, or biking around the lake. Dogs are welcome on leash. Would like to see an off-leash dog area.

Went to kayak for the day. Had to pay $10 admission and $10 to have my kayak inspected. Inspector was not a friendly guy. Would recommend for rentals, but not for using your own equipment unless you live close by or have small children. Takes about 10-15 minutes to paddle across the lake for an adult.

The beach at Aur. Res. is the cleanest beach in these parts. Little to no goose poop, really nice white sand, clear water. The kids love it. It has a very nice atmospere with nicely kept grounds and great playground too. Highly recommend for this land-locked state!

This has to be the cleanest, nicest place to take a bike ride or go kayaking! You can rent the old-fashioned bikes that I used to own (and wish I still did), and you can also rent kayaks here. The place is so clean and the people are so friendly. You can ask them anything. It is quiet and very... More

I've been there 3 times and each time I have had a great time. The beach is perfect- it's never too crowded. The rental of the kayaks and boats makes it a great activity for the whole family and the price is decent. You can take in coolers and food and make it a day. Families take grills and tables... We visited this little lakeside park on a holiday weekend and found that there was plenty of room for everyone! The park was clean, children were having fun, boats available for rent too! For a fun summer day - kids and adults alike will enjoy this park!

The Aurora Reservoir is located out east of the Arapahoe County Fair Grounds off East Quincy Ave in Aurora, CO. This place feels like its halfway to Kansas but you'll appreciate the drive. Unlike the other reservoirs in the Denver metro area, this one is actually well maintained, clean with lots of activities to do. The swimming area is rather... More

Ok place to go. Kind of sparse. Pricey to get in and not that great. Some sights. Lots of birds. There are other lakes in the vicinity that are much better.
