An easy trail with no altitude gain. There are wildflowers everywhere and, of course, those beautiful purple mountains. It is a bit narrow in places with thick, tall overgrowth on both sides, so make sure to take your Deet. There are also a rushing whitewater creek and a lovely, serene lake.

Great trail with amazing views. Can be hiked or you can horse back ride the trail. We have never seen such a beautiful trail with amazing views. Would love to go on this trail again!

Gorgeous hike, even in the rain! It was fabulous and we got a glimpse of the bells as we patiently waited for the clouds to move.

We only had half a day in Aspen, so we were very fortunate to have time for this trail. The view was simply breathtaking and with the sunset looming we had the opportunity to spot quite a few deer grazing in the area.

This is the easiest and most accessible trail in the Wilderness area. Offers great views, potential to see wildlife (and fish in the remarkable clear lake), and a variety of wildflowers in the summer. For the more adventurous, consider the trail to Crater Lake (or beyond!).

This is a beautiful lake with the picturesque Maroon Bells in the background. A very nice hike with plenty of marmots to see and listen for.

Truly magical hike in mid-July from Maroon Lake to Crater Lake. Really close to nature surrounded by her sights and sounds. Mountain breezes, rustling leaves, wildlife, and wildflowers abound. We even saw a moose taking a dip in Maroon Lake! Highly recommend this hike and hope to be lucky enough to return.

I biked up to the maroon trails scenic path and then took the guided tour with the ACES group which meets at 10:15 and 1:15. The naturalists are excellent and they know their stuff. Maroon lake and crater lake are natural wonders. The walk is pretty mild but you should wear good shoes. Go on a sunny day and get... More

Crowded but definitely worth it! The hike up to the lake is short and moderate. Be sure to bring your camera as you will want to take tons of photos.
