The Lincoln Creek road is 4 wheel drive. Some of the hikes in the Aspen area have become too popular and, at times, crowded. This is not one of them. It's a nice gradual climb up the valley, following Grizzly Creek. The last part, up to the lake gets steep, but nothing that a healthy person can't handle. So, pack... More

A perfect hike, in and out of spruce and aspen groves, lovely views, wonderful creek the whole way. The storms really hit this spot, so be prepared for thunderstorms and start early.

We hiked there a few weeks ago - early July 2007. Group of 6 ranging from 18 to 55 yrs. 6.5 mile rough rock road to get to the trailhead. You could probably get there in almost any vehicle, but you want a high profile vehicle to get over the rocks. Very beautiful, somewhat strenuous hike for a city dweller.... More
