We travelled up Aspen Mountain while on a day visit to Aspen. Even though we did not ski, SQ sold passes to go up to the restaurant for lunch. It was a smooth ride up, the scenery was breathtaking.

The Silver Queen Gondola departs from a station behind the Ajax (like the detergent, not the football team) Tavern. The gondola tickets cost about $15 each and it takes roughly 15 minutes to get up the mountain and back. There are seats on both sides of the gondola providing a 360 view of the surroundings. As Aspen begins to disappear... More

I went here when I was 6 years old and I still remember it and talk about it to this day. The ride is sometimes bumpy but it's worth it! It goes slow and the view is worth it!! You won't regret doing this!!

The gondola ride is a fun way to see Aspen from above. The ride takes about 15 minutes to the top and once there you can 5 minutes or 5 hours depending on your interests. Kid friendly things to do are here (frisbee golf, bean bag toss). We got to sit on a patio on the west side of the... More

The Gondola only runs on the weekends after Labor Day. That is information that would have been helpful. The views are spectacular. The restaurant is normal ski food.

Not really worth the six dollar fee but had some good views. Make sure you've eaten cause foods awful and overpriced on top of mountain.

We went up the Gondola for a summer day, tons of things to do for kids at the top, I had no idea, expected a short little time and we wasted hours, playing, hiking and taking in the beatury

It was a lovely trip up, and the activities up top were great for the kiddo (school aged). The gondolas both needed minor repairs, and the windows weren't terribly clear. It was a great first experience with mountain lifts, but I wouldn't do it again.

We decided to take the Silver Queen Gondola to the top and do some of the short hikes. It was a good experience. The ride is smooth and scenic. The top of the mountain has a restaurant and many activities including hiking trails. We took the nature trail which was short and well marked. The view of the surrounding mountains... More

The nature trail is well marked and the wildflowers abundant. The views were breath-taking. Remember it is cooler at the top!
