Found this accidently as we finished a hike along the river. It is a serene place to be, although not particularly large it is well done. We saw it in the fall so can imagine that it would be very crowded and noisey in the summer months. There was still some construction in the area when we were there and we... More

I find it surprising that a singer of John Denver's calibre and influence is remembered in such an understated way in Colorado. There are no statues or obvious signs which draw the passer by into this park. It is unassumingly tucked away near a playing field and is furnished with several boulders engraved with the lyrics to a select few... More

For Denver fans this will be a spiritual stroll down memory lane. It is very pretty, and a nice to see but probably will not sweep non Denver fans off their feet. Well kept grounds and unique place to visit.

We were surprised to find such a peaceful, tranquil spot right in the middle of bustling Aspen. We visited in the Fall and the setting along the stream was beautiful with flowers blooming everywhere. We enjoyed strolling through the garden while reading the song lyrics etched in stone. Don't miss this special place.

I visit the John Denver Sanctuary regularity. Check the new Sanctuary additions including boulders engraved with John's philosophies on the environment and His eternal spirit. They are located in the beautiful water garden which includes babbling mt. streams, waterfalls and peaceful places to sit and reflect.

This was a pleasant surprise. Lovely setting with views up to the mountains. Wandered around, reading the lyrics and quietly thanking John Denver for the beautiful music. Autumn colors were a bonus.

This side trip will only take less than hour, depending on how long you wish to stop and read the music lyrics. It was a pretty setting next to a stream and was worth the short walk around the sanctuary. At the end of the walk we found ourselves at the art museum so if you'd like to combine the... More

We were out exploring Aspen on foot and ran into this from a trail. It was so cool. The rocks placed around are so interesting. Huge boulders are cut in half to provide benches. The lyrics to John Denver's songs are cut into the stones, some almost look like headstones. This is such a cool park to explore. What was... More

Had no idea this place existed and just happened onto it as we were leaving town. Even in the pouring rain, this was a beautiful place to walk and read the lyrics of beloved John Denver. When I got home, I pulled out my guitar and played all those wonderful songs! Well done, Aspen!!
