This is a place that everybody, young and old, can walk around in tennis shoes or flip flops. The grass and the winding riverbed with bridges everywhere was amazing, but the highlight of the walk was going around to all the huge "Rocks" where you can read (or hum quietly to yourself!) Mr. Denver's songs, that are etched into them!... More

Aspen in the summertime is pretty stunning on its own, but the beauty and tranquility of this magical place is not to be missed. Flowers, mini waterfalls, rock paths...all surrounded by the already-beautiful Aspen. Truly lovely.

Though well hidden and lacking in adequate parking, the effort to see the lyrics in stone was well worth it to me. The rocks are hidden from the street so follow the creek past the bridge to get to the rocks and lyrics. Very peaceful and I'm a huge JD fan so I enjoyed it very much. No fee. Just... More

I've been a fan of John Denver since the first time I heard him. This garden is a beautiful tribute to his memory. I didn't have very much time to spend there, but would have liked to have had a couple of hours to just spend there and meditate.

A bellman at a hotel suggested that we walk down to the Sanctuary. It is peaceful (despite the roaring river on the day we were there) and entirely beautiful. One could easily spend an hour or more there, although we were only there for a few minutes.

We need some rest because we are travelling a lot and we found it there. Good sound of the river, near to town. Recommended

From the moment I walked into the sanctuary, there was a feeling of peace. We visited on a rainy day but it was still so beautiful. What a lovely place and a wonderful tribute to a great singer/songwriter/poet.

This is something I've wanted to visit for some time. It was a real treat to be able to. It's a little hard to find (it's actually IN Rio Grande Park). Beautiful water features and wild flowers and, of course, the words of John Denver as well as others and of his best loved songs. A wonderful tribute to a... More
