This place was hand built to be a perfect sanctuary. The flowers, trees, bushes and grasses are camera ready. The engraved HUGE stones with words from famous people as well as the words to John Denver songs are emotional and memorable. Just sit along the river on a bench made from a huge rock, and you just feel yourself relax!

The most densely colorful part of Aspen. Hands down. The sanctuary has no admission, gates, or formality. Just walk over to the park and enjoy. Glide barefoot along smooth rock paths, small wooden bridges and soft, cool grass. When Theatre Aspen has a production, enjoy a beverage or snack from the concession stand, while you take in the scenery.

A beautiful sanctuary like none I have even seen. The boulders, the stream and the inspirational quotes make this a must journey-take your camera. The lyrics of his songs on the boulders bring back memories of my younger years. You can take 15 minutes to stroll though or stop and just relax. A beautiful inspirational garden! The children will like... More

The John Denver Sanctuary is simple, beautiful and a real sanctuary. We were delighted to find that it is a living, breathing place where you can sit quietly and contemplate or enjoy time with others. There are many quiet areas with the bubble of streams and beautiful flowers. The lyrics and quotations carved into the rocks are well chosen and... More

You don't have to be a fan of country music to appreciate the lyrics of John Denver's music. It is a s relevant today as ever. The garden is beautifully laid out with boulders in strategic spots and the lyrics of songs by Denver and poems or quotes from other famous people inscribed on them. A gentle stroll along the... We chanced upon this while talking a walk not too far from our hotel, and it's a splendid, peaceful place to walk through and read the lyrics to Denver's major songs imprinted on different rocks. Be sure to explore the site, though; we saw several people unitentionally miss about half the exhibit. The overall park setting (along a small river)... More

A walk around a park. John Denver songs engraved in rocks. This was a nice park. There were many people picnicking or just relaxing on the lawns. There's a river the dogs were enjoying. A good place to meditate.

This area has been a few years in the making. The flowers, water features and rocks add up to a lovely place to picnic or just sit quietly and meditate on nature's beauty.

It was nice seeing some of his songs inscribed on boulders along with other author's writings. The flowers were beautiful and well kept.

What a beautifully peaceful place! And even more so since it has been expanded. Waterfalls, wildflowers, and engraved rocks are the perfect backdrop for a place to 'just be'!
