Don't miss this lovely place

I never tire of taking walks here. It is a tribute to the city. The location is calming and inspirational. No one coming to Aspen should miss this lovely and unusual park.

My enviormental waco who had a (something like 92,000 fuel tank buried in his compound) for his airplane and durring the oil issue of the embargo/rationing days...but we could not buy fuel and had to wait in lines. Go hike out of town, smuggle mine trail or hanging lake trail.

A very quiet and serene setting by the river, easy walking distance from anywhere in Aspen. Several huge boulders with the lyrics of John Denver songs engraved invite you to rest, contemplate or meditate while enjoying the site and gorgeous views of Aspen mountain in the background.

A small but lovely place near the river. Pathways wander among large boulders that are carved with song lyrics and good messages. Worth taking a little time out to visit. We were here tale end of winter. I bet it is beautiful any other season.

A nice little walk, probably better without snow, but we liked the granite rocks inscribed with JD's songs. Worth a visit.

My wife Lynda and i visited the John Denver Sanctuary a few years ago while in aspen on a ski trip. Although not all the song engravings were showing due to the snow, most were and since we were the only people there, it was a wonderful experience to walk, remember and even sing a few of our favorite John... The John Denver sanctuary was really nice in our opinion. A great way to spend an hour or two outdoors enjoying nature, getting a walk in. It is very well landscaped with gorgeous flowers that appear almost naturally placed, rambling streams and small waterfalls, and boulders with engraved poems, song lyrics and quotations. Very good setting to take family pictures... More

It is a peaceful spot and had many flowers and large rocks. A special spot. It is on the way to the Rio Grande Trail. We enjoyed walking along this trail. It is a pleasant walk and worth while. Not too crowded and people were friendly.
