My favorite ski mountain! It was a great powder day. It was one of their more crowded days per the locals and the lift lines were very reasonable to non-existent.

We had a couple of days skiing on this mountain too. It is so easy to access right from the centre of town. Wonderful skiing conditions.

The Gondola ride itself is worth the visit. Even if you do not ski there are plenty to do and see at the top. How about a Yoga class? The restaurant is great at the top and the fireplace can not be beat. The skiing is world class. If you are in Aspen you know about the skiing. As is... More

Ajax is the mountain located inside the city of Aspen. The other 3 mountains are quite close, 2 of them (Buttermilk and Aspen Highlands) are less than 10 minutes by bus from the city center. But Ajax is next door, and was the first mountain of the complex, so it retains its charm. But the truth is... It's quite a... More

A must for any expert skier. I am partial to Vail and Beaver Creek. But no harm in a visit to the iconic Ajax Mountain. Get it on your bucket list.

I've given Ajax a middle of the road score strictly based on price. Aspen is pricing itself out of the market clearly displayed by the reducing numbers on the slopes every time I go. We enjoyed 2 half days in January and including ski rental and lunch on the mountains it cost around $800. Let me put that in perspective,... More

What a fantastic experience! We started in town at the Little Nell and headed for our hike straight up the mountain. It was HARD but so worth it. By the time we reached the Sundeck at the very top, had done some sort of 2500ft vertical climb in 2 hours, yikes!! We thought we would die, but luckily the adrenaline... More

Quality of the snow, lifts and the daily grooming were awesome. The best skiing i've ever experienced and the most glorious of settings.

Aspen Mountain (nicknamed Ajax) rises 3,267 vertical feet from downtown Aspen. It'a a majestic site. The Silver Queen Gondola travels to the top in 17 minutes. If you know where to go...Aspen Mountain offers top-to-bottom fall line skiing. Aspen Mountain has zero beginner trails and a few intermediate runs...so ski it if you can.
