You must visit in summer

We went in summer, but the trails for skiing look fantastic. Want to return in ski season. The view are fabulous.

Aspen Mtn is a bit more difficult than Aspen but it is a fun mountain to ski. Loved skiing it and went there a couple of times.

Wow! What and amazing site seeing experience! The ride up is absolutely breathtaking! Taking pictures through the gondola glass isn't ideal, but great views non the less. There is a short guided trail tour at the top or go it alone. Also the large restraunt is a fantastic way to take a break and take in the view of the... More

A local trail map said this was a "moderate" hike and it's nowhere close to that. Something like 2500 elevation increase over 2 miles which is challenging to start but throw in the 9500 starting elevation for some east coasters and...whew. Be sure to take water and check the gondola schedule before you go if you want to ride down... More

We took the gondola up here to kill some time and were very pleased with the awesome views of the mountains and Aspen Valley. We took an intermediate level hike which was a bit of a challenge but the views were worth the effort. The food at the restaurant was very adequate and there were lots of activities for the... More

We went there with Gondola just came back in service so most people didn't know about thus very few people. Otherwise, this place can be crowded with being Ajax. It was a blast with white out snowing all day at the mountain. Since the snow is so deep, it really is easy. If you fall, it's soft and fluffy. Personally,... More

Fun during sku I season...skiing top to bottom with gondola ride to relax. During summer fun to hike or ride horses.

This has hands down the best views around. Our favorite thing is Sunday lunch up there for bluegrass in the summer. You come and listen to music while enjoying a really great lunch(pad Thai a favorite) the kids love playing on the ropes course type playground and you can also go learn about the Ajax rescue dogs while you are... My family hiked right up the spine of Ajax mountain! They said, 'it was steep but worth every breathe' During our week in Aspen, we all rode the gondola up the mountain and participated in a free yoga class at the TOP!!

If you're not afraid of heights, then take the gondola up to the top of Ajax. It's a 3-4 hour hike and a 15 min ride. You could hike up and take the gondola down. The restaurant is great so eat at the top! Fun stuff to do while you're there but definitely bring your camera.
