I've skied my whole life and love this mountain. It's not very crowded, has lots of great runs, nice restaurant options and best of all you can walk right into Aspen at the end of the day. If you are not at least a fairly confident intermediate skier the runs to the base are pretty steep and might be a... More

What can you say? Gorgeous mountain with views that impress from anywhere in town. Just awesome. World class skiing. Terrific for summertime hikes. It's what makes Aspen Aspen.

The runs on Ajax are impeccable and the staff is helpful and friendly. Some of their Blues could easily be Blacks. Also- some of the bowls could be double black diamonds. Only serous skiers make it to the bottom quickly!

We hiked up Ajax (about 1 ½ to 2 hours), stopping to take in the gorgeous views along the way. It's a challenging, vertical trail with lots of switchbacks in a forest setting. Go in the morning to reach the lodge at the top for a satisfying lunch! If you plan it right, there may be a concert going on.... More

First time up the mountain in the summer. Gondola ride to top is relaxing as you take in the views. A few places where the height will get you if you have a fear! Peer down at those who choose to hike up to the peak! Summit has a chalet with food and restrooms. Lots of chairs to sit and... More

Ride the Silver Queen Gondolas any time of year, hike it's trails or just observe it as you enjoy a martini, this famous ski hill punctuates Aspen's profile.

You can hike from the top of the gondola along the top of the mountain on a ridge and back. This is a great way to see lots of beautiful views without having to do a lot of hard uphill hill climbing. A great sense of satisfaction without needing to put strain on the knees. If you're from the city... More

Views were good, but the gondola was not perfect for taking photos. I did not linger at the top, but did see people involved in various activities like dining at the restaurant, playing checkers with large pieces, riding dirt bikes on trails, etc. I really just wanted to see the views. A few aspens had turned, but mostly there were... More
