Beautiful, challenging hike

It's gorgeous - there is no two ways about it. But, it's not easy. It's worth every step, ever huff and every puff. One of the best hikes in this valley!

Simply beautiful hiking and easy enough for the most novice hikers. You park in the Maroon Creek parking lot and keep to the right. You'll see signs pointing you in the correct direction. You'll walk along side the Maroon Lake and be delighted by all the incredible wildflowers this season. Plan on being gone for about 2 hours if you... More

I am a very novice hiker- I found Cathedral Lake trail challenging- and had to head down before I got to the lake! However my family ventured on and loved the whole trail!

Hard only because it's long (took us about 2 hours) but gorgeous and not crowded which is so nice! Bring water! Great for families too

One must be inspired from either within or from external stimuli, this trail to me personally possessed both.....I would only hope that perhaps it would mean the same to you regardless of age from 1 year of age to 99 years of age....

This is a beautiful trail that leads to a lake that is so clear and gorgeous. The hike is strenuous and has a really steep set of switchbacks at the top but is worth it. We saw a bear one time and my brother saw a mountain lion from afar too....i love to do this hike and then reward myself... More

Get ready for a workout as you assend to just shy of 12,000 feet. There are trout in the lake and the water is Gin Clear. Try to start early as the rain and clouds typically come in by mid-afternoon. If you start later I highly suggest rain gear be in your backpack. Bring more water than you think you'll... More

This is the best hike in Aspen. There is parking at the trail head. It gets crowded but still plenty of room. The hike can be a bit steep but there are plenty of stunning places to stop take photos and catch your breath. Bring lunch and relax at the lake. Really beautiful place.

Great hike with an awesome lake at the end. Take plenty of water and i would highly recommend packing lunch. Beautiful views everywhere you look, make sure to take time to look around. no need for a high clearance vehicle, its a bumpy road to get to the trailhead but you can make it with a smaller car. you will... Not that hard really (I'm 64) Started early. I left at 8:15 and had the trail to myself for two hours. After half an hour at the lake I was back at the car by 12:15. The lake is surrounded by craggy mountains and it is awesome rather than picturesque. An early start means that you will get some good... More
