Great approximately 6 mile round trip paved trail by a golf course and oaks. Mostly flat with slight inclines. Good for walking, bike riding, or skating.

The ride along this trail is easy, alot of shade from the trees, relaxing and beautiful. Love the canopy of trees and of course the ocean!

This goes right by our hotel (Avila Village Inn) and leads past a river and a golf course into Avila Beach. We walked from the inn to town and back without a problem, and biking would have been even easier. We missed a sign and wound up walking a bit further than we should have, but spotted it easily on... Took the Bob Jones trail and really enjoyed it! The scenery is awesome! Lots of trees, birds and people to see. It's an easy ride, so great for kids. Super close to Pismo, so if you are in Pismo, check it out!

We stayed near the start of the trail in Avila at the KOA. The trail was good for bikers of any level, almost all off street, with respectful walkers and dogs on leash. The market midway to Avila serves a very nice lunch and makes a good stopping point. We rode our bikes into Avila Beach along the trail. My... More

Love the fact that there is a little market located in the center of the trail. So you can stop off and get a bottle of wine and a salad. The trail itself is pretty safe as there are always others on the trail, there are tons of outlets along the way from the parking lot to the ocean. A... More

Fantastic trail with a bit of everything! Golf course, little river, trees, open fields, bridges... From Avila, cross Avila Beach Drive on 1st Street and that is the beginning of the trail. It's not well marked but you'll see it by the golf course! The other end starts off Ontario Rd. This stretch is about 3 miles! If you're in... More

Very pretty walk down to the beach and not too strenuous for 1.7 miles. Return trip was surprisingly easy.

Stayed at the KOA next to the hot springs, on Ontario Road. Rented bicycles there and rode out to the beach and back. Stopped at a deli in Woodstone Marketplace for mid-morning breakfast on the way. Trail is nicely paved, scenery is great, lots of tree canopy. I'd go back to Avila Beach, just to get on this bike trail... More

I'm so happy Bob Jones' passion for nature preserved this quaint nature walk. I awake early every morning, at 5 a.m., because I'm so excited to get on the trail. It connects to the health club, sycamore springs, and even to the Buddhist temple. I haven't gone all the way to the beach yet, but plan to one day.
