The Bob Jones trail cut through the back of the little Inn we stayed at and we just fell in love with it. It took us about 11 minutes to walk to the beach, and I was informed we could have ridden bikes to San Louis Obispo in less than a half hour.

Safe and secure pathway to the beach or back up to SLO. Very scenic along a waterway. Great area with trees, rocks, all with interesting signs explaining what you are seeing. Trees that have come out of rock formations, possible volcanoes.

This is a great trail to walk with your dogs. There are several spots where you can stop along the way. I like to park in the dirt parking lot and walk to the restaurant about 1 mile in, great rest stop and great food.

Nice partially shaded trial. I would recommend doing a morning adventure because it was a bit hot and humid. I would have liked to see a port a potty at the Ontario Rd entrance and some water fountain by the play ground would have been great.

Trail is great place for a quick run, walk, or bike ride. Very quiet and peaceful. Start out at the 101 and walk to Avila.

My favorite bike ride...the trail itself has a trail head on Ontario Rd. I enjoy the ride from home...easy bike ride or walk from the trail head through shaded terrain. The trail is 2 lanes and paved. You can take trail into the town of Avila Beach and beyond to Port San Luis. The scenery is beautiful. There is a... More

I'm always looking for places to walk... and on this occasion, my knee was bothering me so I didn't want anything strenuous. The Bob Jones trail started for me at the parking lot at the corner where the grocery store/restaurant is, and I walked all the way to the end. There were very few people at the time (it was... This is a great, paved trail to ride with the family. It is pretty popular - used by bikers, runners and walkers. It follows a river, or more like a creek, to Avila beach. It is in the valley so no views to speak of.

A nice bike path down from 101 to Avila Beach. The path can be crowded on weekends, so ride at the safe pace and let the walkers know you are coming behind them early.

We have stay at the KOA before, never knew of this path, it's such a peaceful, quite pathway. You can walk, run, bike, and stroll, to the beach. It's about a 3 miles. As for my self, my family walk much faster than me, I made stopped, an sat on benches that are found along the way. Bring water with... More
