We loaned the free bikes from our hotel the Avila village inn, for an brilliant cycle ride to the beach on a dedicated cycle path ( recommend ). great path like a nature trail with Buzzards, Humming birds etc. and once at the sea, Seals on the rocks and Dolphins around the pier.

This trail is a gem fitting right in with the beautiful area. The nature preserve is very serene with chirps of many birds and a slow flowing river. Many trees and flowers adorn this well maintained trail. They have even included kiosks (signs) in front of certain trees and bushes explaining what it is. Great for bikes, walkers, or joggers... The variety of this trail, from beach to back road makes it ideal for families out hiking and biking on a glorious Friday. The vistas are tremendous and I was rewarded at the end by a wine tasting room where I bought a bottle!

We have walked the Bob Jones Trail several times in the last year. It is a pleasant walk and we always feel safe.

This paved bike trail meanders along a creek bed, past apple orchards and vineyards, through a lovely coastal golf course and ends up in the sands of the Pacific Ocean. Round trip is a relaxed 30 minutes.....that is with time to enjoy the sights and sounds of Avila Beach from a bench conveniently located at the ocean end of the... More

This is a wonderful way to get out and enjoy the out doors go a beautiful way to get to Avila beach (or a sneaky way to go to events in Avila to avoid trying to find parking). I love biking this trail. Perfect for solo, friends, families, all fitness levels.

It winds through the canyon to the sea along the year round creek. Lots of birds to see/watch and other small wildlife (wild turkeys, owls) & salmon during season.
