Fantastic trail with a bit of everything! Golf course, little river, trees, open fields, bridges... From Avila, cross Avila Beach Drive on 1st Street and that is the beginning of the trail. It's not well marked but you'll see it by the golf course! The other end starts off Ontario Rd. This stretch is about 3 miles! If you're in... More

Very pretty walk down to the beach and not too strenuous for 1.7 miles. Return trip was surprisingly easy.

Stayed at the KOA next to the hot springs, on Ontario Road. Rented bicycles there and rode out to the beach and back. Stopped at a deli in Woodstone Marketplace for mid-morning breakfast on the way. Trail is nicely paved, scenery is great, lots of tree canopy. I'd go back to Avila Beach, just to get on this bike trail... More

I'm so happy Bob Jones' passion for nature preserved this quaint nature walk. I awake early every morning, at 5 a.m., because I'm so excited to get on the trail. It connects to the health club, sycamore springs, and even to the Buddhist temple. I haven't gone all the way to the beach yet, but plan to one day.

Nice bike or walking trail. Runs through and along the golf course and creek, then into some orchards. Some homes along it, so it doesn't feel isolated or unsafe. Very nice.

Sweet trail! The ideal day is to start with a glass of something red at the market and then to meander toward town.

High quality road and path surfaces, good signage, great scenery, weather and friendly people along the way. During very early morning walks, I have seen a fox, many deer, a wild turkey, dozens of vultures, a bob cat, a skunk and three coyotes - plus dozens of different water fowl. Take a bottle of water and a camera. Slight elevation... More

This wonderful walking and bike trail meanders a few miles along the San Luis creek, offering both shade and sun, ending up in the quaint little town of Avila Beach. Along the way, there are digital markers telling you all about the flora and the fauna of the area, plus a little history thrown in. Bird watchers may spot mallards,... More

I work in Avila so every chance I get to do the trail myself I do it. Every chance I get to tell a guest about it I make sure they know how beautiful and special it is so that they get to enjoy it while they are visiting our beautiful Avila Beach

The Bob Jones bike trail takes you off the beaten path. You won't have to worry about cars on most of the trail. You will start at Avila Beach and find yourself passing a beautiful golf course on the first part of your journey. The trail is nice and wide and has lots of room for both bikes and walkers... More
