This is a wonderful way to get out and enjoy the out doors go a beautiful way to get to Avila beach (or a sneaky way to go to events in Avila to avoid trying to find parking). I love biking this trail. Perfect for solo, friends, families, all fitness levels.

It winds through the canyon to the sea along the year round creek. Lots of birds to see/watch and other small wildlife (wild turkeys, owls) & salmon during season.

Everyone knows the beach is a hit in Avila Beach, but this trail is wonderful! Locals and visitors were all on the trail, it was very clean and also felt safe.

I was visiting in Santa Maria in October 2014 and had time to take a wonderful walk on the Bob Jones trail. The whole trail is paved. There is easy access off the freeway, ample parking lot and good directions. I was walking alone and totally enjoyed myself. There were families on bikes, baby strollers, walkers, all ages. The path... More

My husband and I are new to walking / hiking trails. We loved this trail!! Went from our hotel through nature, a golf course, and ending at the beach!! It was nice and peaceful and we saw many animals. I loved the birds diving in the water while we crossed the bridge at the golf course. Great trail!!

Walk or bike the asphalt two lane trail meanders next to the creek and Avila Golf Course from Avila Hot Springs to the beach town of Avila. About 2 1/2 miles one way with a small uphill about 1/2 was. Great views of golf course and bay. Very kid and dog friendly. Stop in the middle at Avila Bay Club... More

or bike! Beautiful trail with a good variation in environs as you make your way through the canyon. A good way to get out of the car and see what this part of California is really like.

Great paved trails for families kids, bikes, walkers, and joggers Sometimes crowded with fast bikes so just be careful We like to park at the beginning of the trail and walk it all and end up at Fat Cats for breakfast and then walk back.
