Make a reservation for this on-line and then enjoy the hike to this historic lighthouse. A tour of the lightkeepers home and the historic lighthouse is included. We left at 9 am and returned at 12:30. The docent for the hike had many interesting photos and stories to tell about the area including the geology and plant material, the docent... More

Great clean place, will definitely go back. Loved it, continental breakfast also. The staff were great and the room had the best view.

I really enjoyed this tour. The lighthouse is beautifully restored and the views up the are spectacular. It's all about if your interested in that sort of stuff.

My husband, myself, and 3 other couples attended the murder mystery dinner on Halloween night. It was a blast. Just a couple of things could of been different: everyone should be asked to dress in costumes, the trolley should leave at the time stated and not wait for those who are not there on time, and the staff should ensure... Though a bit more pricey than the tour of the lighthouse at Piedras Blancas (a very special night tour) that we took last year, it was an enjoyable experience taking the "trolley" up the very steep grade to reach the lighthouse. We were able to see Port San Luis from above that we've not seen before. A tour of the... More

This is a very interesting and enjoyable tour. The lighthouse is at the top of a "hill" and the route up is best done by the trolley unless you are in very good physical condition. The views are outstanding and the guides all do the work because they enjoy it. They are all volunteers. I would avoid taking children under... More

Visiting the Port San Luis Lighthouse was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The lighthouse is only reachable by a hiking path, kayaking and then a hiking path or by trolley. We opted for the trolley. (It's available on Wed. & Sat. for the general public and cost us $20 pp) It takes you up a windy road that hugs the coastline... More

Riding up to the lighthouse on the trolley was great. Great views and little bits of history provided on the way up. Once at the lighthouse seeing everything and learning the history of the lighthouse was wonderful. The trolley runs Wed & Sat. I recommend going for the views alone. But the history about it was very nice too..
