Very informative and only 10 people per docent. Ride up via trolley was good too. Each lighthouse has its own color scheme.

We took the trolley ride to the lighthouse. The hike is pretty strenuous and I just had knee surgery. The driver was very knowledgeable and made the short trip interesting. A docent toured the lighthouse with our small group and was also very knowledgeable and interesting. Great care has gone into maintaining this lighthouse. There is also a gift shop... More

The lighthouse is very unique. The docents were very knowledgeable and friendly. The house has been restored with artifacts from the late 1800's. You have to take a trolly to get to the light house. Driving the drive the guide gave us a history of Avila and the piers. We were there just before Christmas and they had a blue... More

While visiting with relatives at the end of October, they told us we were visiting a lighthouse - what they didn't tell us was it was set up at a haunted house for Halloween. I would NEVER visit a haunted house on my own; however, this was already arranged and paid for, and we were already there, so we reluctantly... More

Make a reservation for this on-line and then enjoy the hike to this historic lighthouse. A tour of the lightkeepers home and the historic lighthouse is included. We left at 9 am and returned at 12:30. The docent for the hike had many interesting photos and stories to tell about the area including the geology and plant material, the docent... More

Great clean place, will definitely go back. Loved it, continental breakfast also. The staff were great and the room had the best view.

I really enjoyed this tour. The lighthouse is beautifully restored and the views up the are spectacular. It's all about if your interested in that sort of stuff.

My husband, myself, and 3 other couples attended the murder mystery dinner on Halloween night. It was a blast. Just a couple of things could of been different: everyone should be asked to dress in costumes, the trolley should leave at the time stated and not wait for those who are not there on time, and the staff should ensure... Though a bit more pricey than the tour of the lighthouse at Piedras Blancas (a very special night tour) that we took last year, it was an enjoyable experience taking the "trolley" up the very steep grade to reach the lighthouse. We were able to see Port San Luis from above that we've not seen before. A tour of the... More
