Awesome. Vince was a fantastic r guide. We spent hours on the water and saw lots of wildlife. Stopped at the lighthouse for a quick break. The gear is in great shape and everything you need was provided. Bring a waterproof camera. You will get wet.

Took my visiting family (brother, wife, 3 teens) and my wife on their paddleboard tour. Vince and Emily were awesome! Spent 3 hours + paddling around Avila Bay, into open water, around the little islands there, and walked up to the lighthouse. So much more than we bargained for! Vince, you ROCK as a tour guide! Everyone said it was... More

We had a blast kayaking! We saw a mother sea otter grooming her pup right there in the kelp beds. We saw dolphins playing very close to us. Baby sea lions resting on the rocks... A very unique and fun experience!

Emily and Vince are two of the kindest people I've met living here on the Central Coast, so I've made paddling with them a normal part of my weekend routine. Avila Bay is the gem of SLO County - a peaceful little spot, blessed with sunshine, mild to no wind, and always lots of busy little ocean critters. It's the... More

As the owner of a paddle sports shop on the east coast, I always access other shops when I go traveling. A couple friends and I rented kayaks from ABP and I was impressed with the equipment, the service, and the efficiency. Got us on the water quickly, there to help you in & out and give advice about the... More

The Chumash Indians of the central California coast were highly-skilled paddlers, using canoes called “tomols” to navigate the nearby ocean waters. Looking to follow in the wake of the Chumash, we four nervous kayak rookies arrived at Avila Beach Paddlesports (ABP) near the Hanford Pier. After a brief orientation and 3 minute lesson in kayak paddling, our bravery was buoyed.... More

Excellent lessons, fair prices, and a safe and beautiful harbor. Good for young and "older" alike! I have revisited many times.

This is easily the best place to kayak or paddle board on the central coast and possibly anywhere. The owners are extremely friendly and the service is very fast, even when they are busy. The kayaks and stand up paddle boards are in great condition, and the staff make sure you know how to use everything properly. The weather is... More

Our group of 5 women had such a blast ---3 on Paddleboards, 2 in Kayaks --- paddling our way around the Avila Beach Coastline. We enjoyed Otters frolicking in the kelp, sea lions on the pier, seals and a great variety of sea birds up close --- plus starfish, sea anemones...It was a blast!
