We took our Fitness Retreat clients out on a paddle board tour and Vince Shay the owner was our guide and couldnt have been any nicer or more accomodating with our group. We had one gal who feared the water and within minutes she took her life vest off. I only wish we didnt have such a tight schedule due... More

This is the best kayak/SUP rental company around. Great location, helpful staff, and the owners are genuine and fantastic. I live locally and have visited numerous times, and it has always been great. Perfect spot for beginners or the experienced - you can rest assured you'll be taken care of.

Rented kayaks for two hours. Crew was helpful and made sure everyone knew what they were doing. The equipment was in good shape and the process was easy. If you are going paddle around to the lighthouse and take a picnic lunch up. Very nice half day activity.

What a great crew out there at Avila Beach Paddlesports! Had a first time experience ocean kayaking with family, including some who had never kayaked before. Had the best time exploring the harbor kelp beds and the coast north of Avila in perfect conditions. Saw lots of sealife of all kinds. Instruction was reassuring, and Vince even kayaked out to... I have brought many dogs over many years to beaches in California, all legal. This is the best dog beach my dogs and I know. The water is fairly calm, the sea life is there for interest, and the dogs are friendly. In probably 40-50 hours of beach time there over the years. I have never seen a dog fight.... More

This company already has a lot of reviews and hardly needs another. But let me say, read the reviews and take it all in for a wonderful experience. Troll out to the kelp beds and mingle with the otters, paddle through the boats and to the pier to enjoy the sea lions and pier activity, paddle out to the rock... More

The best tour ever! Vince came in on his day off to accommodate our schedule. We saved a bird, paddled through caves, saw tons of wildlife including whales, otters, birds, harbor seals and porpoise. Vince was high energy, funny, positive, knowledgable and all around a great tour guide. This tour was excellent & we will continue to kayak after such... More

My 14 year old daughter and I embarked on the shell beach adventure tour. About a third of the way in, my daughter started acting whimpy. It would have been so easy for Vince to give up on her but he just kept encouraging her, gave her water and a protein bar, even tied a rope between their boats to... More
