On the tour you might see bald Eagles soaring high above, the shy Santa Catalina Island fox, and American bison. Not to mention the rare plants and archaeological sites. If you are looking for a open-air experience the Catalina Island Conservancy Jeep® Eco Tour is for you. With only myself and my husband as passengers, this was a made to order experience. Our naturalist, Beth was perfect. Her love of the island came through from beginning to end. The eagles, bison, wildflowers, and rugged coastline were amazing and getting... More

We had taken a Conservancy jeep tour out of Avalon that covered the Eastern end of the Island a couple years ago and enjoyed it immensly. Our driver Fred was informative and entertaining. My husband and I have grown up sailing to Catalina and anchoring in many of its coves and hiking thru the hills. We thought we knew a... More

The BF and I have just returned from a pleasant weekend on Santa Catalina Island. The highlight of our visit was a 3-hour jeep "eco-tour" given by the Catalina Island Conservancy, who are entrusted with preserving the natural resources of the island. To experience the wild interior, you can hike, bike and camp (see other reviews), or ride with these... More

This tour is limited to groups of four and goes all over the island, which makes it very special. The money goes to the non-profit Conservancy and the guides are all volunteers. Ours was incredibly knowledgeable about the ecology and all things Catalina. It's a bit pricey, but we felt it was absolutely worth every penny. It was the highlight... More

There are plenty of tours available on the island which take you around in large buses. I chose this tour over the others as it went to places on the island that the others are not able to go to and the small group. There were only 4 pax on the tour which allowed us to ask questions and stop... More

We were looking for a better visual understanding and a hands on guide to the history of the Catalina Island What better way to achieve this... a combined land and sea experience... a trip that offered a drive through the interior from Avalon to Two Harbors... and a slow boat ride close enough to enjoy the reputed coves of Catalina... Bruce, our guide was very knowledgeable about the island, especially about the endemic species. Our three hour trip took us over a good chunk of the island. We saw the Catalina Fox (Tuvi), a small herd of Bison (we had to drive through the herd....what fun) and captive Bald and Golden Eagles. We were going to stop for chocolates (Godiva!)... More
