I booked this Jeep tour and it turned out my husband and I were the only ones that morning, so like our own private tour! Andrew was a great driver and guide-we learned so much from him. We got to see 2 bison, the Airport in the Sky and went to Escondido Ranch were there is a new vineyard. Went... More

We were lucky enough to be the only two people on this tour so we were able to get so much information about the island and its history. Don't leave Catalina without exploring the island. To just stay in Avalon is a huge mistake. You will learn about the wildlife and vegetation as well as we the Bison up close.... More

Spent a week in the LA area visiting our son and have to say the day spent touring the "back country" with the Catalina Conservancy was by far the best day of our trip. The COMFORTABLE jeep only holds 6 and our driver "Ron"? made us feel as if we were being shown the island by a friend and not... More

After reviewing on Tripadvisor, I booked this tour over all the Catalina Expeditions because it's run by the Nature Conservancy and seemed more intimate. I was right - when boarding the ferry to Catalina there was a vendor SHOUTING at the crowds at how the Catalina Expeditions tours were all booking up, hurry... very mass-market. (Luckily, there was only 1... More

Great tour , saw a lot of Bison . Very much miss the flat bottom raft that was associated with this tour for one season. Well worth the money. Bring hat , sunscreen . And have fun

Our guide Beth did a great job letting us know about all the cool bits of information along the 3 Hour tour (definitely recommend over the 2 Hr). We got to see lots of Bison, stopped at the airport to browse the store and look around (Bison Burger was great!) then to the Eagle habitat, saw a fox towards the... More

There are a couple of jeep tour companys that take you into the Catalina Island back country, but only one is part of the Catalina Island Conservancy which is a non-profit organization which pretty much manages most of the island. The jeeps are not the large Hummer type that carry a boatload of people. These are real jeeps that carry... More

What an awesome time we had on our tour with Chris at the wheel. We were graced with fabulous weather. It had rained during the night so everything was fresh and the views were incredible. The jeep is open air so dress in layers with hats, gloves, etc. it can get windy! We saw bison and a bald eagle. Chris... More

We took the eco jeep tour on our recent visit to catalina island during the recent Thanksgiving holidays. We did our tour on Friday and were the only folks on our jeep. As a result our family of 3 got a customized tour. The jeep only had a canopy at the top and provide complete view on all directions. The... More

We had one day to visit the Island and decided to take a half day private jeep tour. Our tour guide was Andrew Hobbs and he was great. He was very knowledgable and interesting. He took us all around the interior and we were able to see a couple of bald eagles, red tailed hawk and bison. He took us... More
