Old Town Auburn is a nice area to visit and eat. The hills are steep. Plenty of off-street parking. The locals are friendly. Enjoyable for walking, window shopping and eating.

Great place to visit with a wonderful brewery/restaurant. don't miss visiting the eclectic art gallery in the heart of the action. Great selection of gifts and fine art.

There is a variety of buildings with minor historic interest but lots of historic character. Wandering around is fun if you like locally owned businesses selling everything from art to antiques, clothing, etc. There are plenty of eateries from coffee shops to restaurants, soda fountains to pubs.

Not as many shops as I thought there would be. and all the shops closed at 5 even on Saturday. It was close to the highway and plenty of hotels close by. Also lots of trendy places to eat at. Its the halfway point between airport and Sacramento

when you walk the streets of old town Auburn you are transported back to the early 1900's. The architecture of the period is everywhere and the shop owners are pleasant and accommodating to visitors. Grab a bite to eat and relax.

Travelers take a quick detour off of Hwy 80 and take a step back in time! Stop in for a quick meal at one of the many, excellent restaurants and take a little historical stroll through town! A welcoming and truly special place!

We stopped in Auburn on the way back from seeing the Foresthill bridge and were shocked to find a few of the stores closed for business on a Friday during the day. However we did visit the old fire station and a few antique stores. This town is full of them!

Old Town Auburn was really cool to visit...neat atmosphere. Challenging parking if you have anyone with you with mobility issues...we quickly gave it up and parked in a well-situated pay lot.
