My child Stephan and I had the most wonder filled experience observing all of the creatures this zoo had to offer in their very true to life natural looking habitats. The animals all seemed well bred and the zoo keepers definitely did not incorporate any sexual behavior into the routine maintenance of these majestic creatures

The Atascadero Zoo is small, very small. It is a fun trip with small children, so that they can have an experience with some birds and animals that they would not otherwise encounter. For adults without children, it will be a quick trip and not too exciting. There is at this time a lot of upgrading and renovating going on!... More

We had to kill some time in Atascadero and went to the park, not realizing that there was a small zoo there. As 2 adults, we enjoyed seeing the variety of animals on display and 45 minutes passed very quickly. It is located in Atascadero Park where after the zoo, your kids can play on the playground or ball field... More

My 2 daughters and I spent 90 minutes here. After reading the reviews, I thought there were only going to be 10 animal displays. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised with the 30 or so different animals. My younger daughter sketched all the animals, and the older daughter photographed them. The red panda and spider monkeys were extremely cute. It only... More

This is a delightful little zoo that will make you smile and feel good about seeing animals well cared for in a natural and well maintained environment. The red pandas are such a delight!

Clean, and our children enjoyed it very much. We plan on returing again later this year. We have relatives visiting from out of town.

Lots of fun to bring the family. The ice cream social is our favorite! The lady at the front selling tickets is rather rude but the rest of the team are great. The animals are obviously the reason we go, very cool!

This is not the largest Zoo however it is very kid friendly and staff will explain things if you ask. Adjacent to a nice park so if you bring a picnic kids lave fun there too!

It has recently been updated and looks much better for visitors and the animals. Our grandchildren enjoy seeing the animals and it is within Atascadero Lake Park so other activities as picnics, band concerts, wine festival and play ground are accessible to them.

Very clean and nice zoo. Although very small, my 3 and 1-year olds loved it. Took about 30 mins to see but enjoyed the park next door for another hour. We weren't disappointed at all and had a blast.
