Black Diamond Mines is a nice regional park with a museum that highlights the mining activity that occurred there last century. There is a cemetery, a mine shaft, tours of the old mines, and many hiking trails to wonder around. The rangers are cordial and seem to really enjoy sharing their history and knowledge of the park. Most of the... More

The mine has a small visitor conter, but for the most part this is a wildlife preserve linked to a neclace of open parkland surrounding San Francisco Bay. It links into Mt. Diablo State Park and various county, federal and state parks and sites. When we visited we were totally alone except for cows and butterflies. More

$5.00 for vehicles. Additional $2.00 for each dog. It is beautiful. There are really no doggie baggies available in the area. Please bring baggies. More

Take a trip to the past. Tour a mine, take a hike to an old cemetery or hike through the hills. Outstanding history and outdoor recreation. More

This place is so big and so full of historical and outdoor fun. You can actually go into the mines to see what it was like for the miners. Bring warm clothes for the mines even if it's hot outside. More

My son has a fondness for caves and mines, so when we found out this county park (take the Somerville off Hwy. 4) had mines, a ,mine tour (Late spring and summer) a pioneer cemetery, and a museum, we were alll about a trip. As we entered the park, we passed a "ghost town"" (not part of the park, but... More
