We stayed at Grand Californian and spent a couple days here. Different than WDW in Florida, but some of the favorites from there are here. We liked the Paradise Pier section of the park as it reminded us of some older amusement parks we have visited. And Cars Land was a neat area

The "Cars Land Racers" was an amazing ride--we rode it three times, using the Single Rider line to save time. "Soaring Over California" and "Silly Symphony Swings" were exhilarating! The "World of Color" show was eye-popping. However, "Monsters Inc." was a disappointing waste of time.

They serve alcohol. It helps a lot. The rides are more on the thrill seeker side. It also has a great kids area. I heard some people refer to it as Pixar Adventure which was pretty accurate as there are a lot of pixar things going on.

We have been to DCA 5 times since it opened in 2001. Although we did like the original design, it was lacking the Disney touch. Our last trip In January 2014 was after the opening of Carsland and the refurb of the front entrance. You will find many Pixar characters and themed rides. It is fun. My boys especially liked... Cal Adventure is a modern day theme park. While Disneyland struggles to contain all the people within, its baby sister has numerous upgrades that make it much more pleasant for a family containing youngsters. Here's an example: the Dumbo ride in Disneyland was a favorite for our little girl. 45 minutes in the blazing sun was a heavy price to... More

If you have been to Disney MGM, and Animal Kingdom then this place will seem familiar. It has many of the same popular rides/ attraction from both parks- Tower of Terror, Bugs life, Grizzly rapids- but it has a California twist with the Pier section of the park. I liked it better than Disney mostly because I had never been... More

The California Adventure is a new kind of Disneyland.. exciting rides.. great fun for the kids.. amazing things to see and a ton of room to roam around. The kids will have a ball and the parents will enjoy the freedom and the amazing rides. Don't miss the "Scream" or any of the new rides.

I do recommend to get the Fast Passes for Radiators Springs and Wonderful World of Colors as soon as the park opens. Otherwise lines for Radiators Springs is about 2 hours and you will not get a good view of Wonderful World Of Colors without the pass.

Anything that says "Disney" on it is automatically linked to family fun. Unfortunately, if it's in southern California, like the California Adventure portion of the Disneyland Resort, it also means you'll pay dearly for it. For years now, there has been a special discount for area residents who can produce photo ID that proves they live here. That helps a... More

My 8 year old son and I visited California Adventure. The new Cars ride is great and one of my favorite theme park rides. Disney did a marvelous job on it. The only problem is the wait to ride it was almost 3 hours. The fast passes were gone for the day by 9:00 a.m. Fortunately we got a fast... More
