This is a great theatre and cineplex. Main part is historic theater which was restored to original classic style. Has done lots to revitalize the downtown area. Provide a good selections of movies. Does a old movie classic series as well as summer movie viewing program for kids. Adds to the small town community feel of Alameda.

Everything about this theatre is good -- the size of each theatre, the cleanliness, the gorgeous design of the building, the pre-show videoes of local interest.

My family enjoy coming here for movies and the ambience. The staff are friendly and the ticket prices are below those offered in big chain like AMC. It's centrally located with many other attractions and restaurants.

The Alameda Theatre and Cineplex reopened its doors a few years ago as, for the first time in years, a movie theatre. It's an old movie palace that has been "updated," mostly successfully: there's still a big "main" screen, so there's still the possibility of one of those big big BIG movie experiences. The modernization includes digital projection and comfortable... More

A great local amenity since its restoration. A great variety of movies with parking right next door. We also love the wine bar downstairs. Only thing I would wish for is that they would take Amex!

Alameda has a theatre that has history and was remodeled for movies again. It has modern features in a historic building. It is completely renovated with new carpets and a escalator but check out the ladies restroom, it is as features of the past. This is a multi plex theatre. This is a nicely located theatre with plenty of eateries... More

I love the main movie theater where there's a giant sized screen, and sits a lot of people. But what's great is the decoration within the main room itself, very elegant, historic, and classy. The best part is this is part of our neighborhood!

After renovation and the addition of Cineplex screens, dowtown Alameda has the most convenient center for film fans. They do classics, community events and current realeases in an authentic movie "palace" of the early 1930's. The streets nearby have an rich variety of restaurants and new ones open regularly. If they are showing a film you wish to see, go... More

This theater was designed by Timothy Pflueger, the architect behind the Castro theater and the Oakland Paramount, etc. It was closed and essentially unused in the 80s; but the city of Alameda took on a project to overhaul and renovate it. Now, its gorgeous. The lobby is as it was, as is the main theater - except that it now... More
