Roosevelt Lake / Dam Apache Trail. Took a drive from Phoenix to explore this beautiful place, as described to me. It's a hike out there drive-wise. Once we got there it was GORGEOUS but a storm was coming, so we had to cut it short. As it rarely rains and Az doesn't really have a drain off system in place.... More

Set aside a day to drive The Apache Trail. You will be so glad that you did! Many of the reviews that we read before driving on The Apache Trail were rather discouraging, even scary. I'm glad we took a risk and didn't listen to what was previously written; we would have missed out on a special adventure! We were... More

If you have a day or even half a day to spend in Phoenix area don't think twice! By driving through Apache trail you'll see maybe the best views you will ever see. Took me about 6 hours for the whole loop clockwise, with lots of stops along the way. It's not too scary to drive there and I personally... More

My parents and I did a combination of the 1 hour nature drive (throughout the desert) and the two hour drive up the Apache trail. Our guide, Larry, was informative and friendly. His knowledge about the desert plants was exceptional. The scenery was spectacular ... I can see why it is called the scenic highway. I would highly recommend.

Enjoyed this winding jeep ride through the desert. Our guide was knowledgable about the area, our rental car would not have made the trip and mountain driving is not easy. Great way to see the trail.

We decided to take the Gold Panning 2 hour tour, it was a cute rustic Ghost Town, with a working Train. Great place to take pictures and to look at Superstition Mountains. I just wanted to let you know what an AMAZING time we had on Friday the 22nd with Chili. He had so much knowledge of the area and... More

a tip......there is a shortcut there from scottsdale so you don't have to do the usual freeway connection that most maps show you as the way to get there....your concierge can show you, it goes thru neighborhoods that are interesting and soon you are there.

I took the "Siphon Draw" trail into the Superstition Mountains early in the afternoon alone, and was more than a little surprised by the challenge it offered. I wasn't able to make it to the top of the Mountain, but ended-up within several hundred yards. I didn't have enough sunlight left in the day to continue, but am looking forward... More

If you are in the PHX area you MUST take this tour. Yes, you can drive it yourself but you will miss a million photo ops and you will miss the knowledge and humour of our wonderful guides - "Dusty Bottoms" and "Rattlesnake". The scenery is unbelievable and the stories we heard were fascinating. Do not pass this up!

My husband and I booked a 2 hour off-road tour and had a blast. Our guide was very informative about the area, geography, history, legends and even the wildlife. He even pulled over and cut off some cactus fruit (not prickly pair) for us to try. The landscape is rugged and beautiful-everything we expected to see when visiting Arizona. I... More
