Hiked to the peak.

Fairly easy hike with reasonable views. Not overly busy. Easy to find off I-60. Mainly south facing. Bring water.

Just off the highway and the park has some nice trails with good signage. It is easy to approach but can be a bit of a challenge to get back out onto the highway if there is lots of traffic.

If you are staying in the Mesa area, this is a perfect mountain to be your first hike. The trails are well mapped and easy - moderate ability, with spectacular views of the Superstition Mountains. Downside? There is no bathroom or water fountain so make sure you are well hydrated but not too well hydrated that you need a potty... More

This small hiking area is located off of Highway 60 near Apache Junction. It has an assortment of trails and a nice small botanic garden that can be accessed by anyone. Most of the hiking trails require hiking boots and a stick but you can get by on a couple with tennis shoes. We were given a trail guide by... More

It was my first time in Arizona, and this was my first hike. It was awesome- challenging if you wanted it to be and more relaxed if you chose that. We took the "difficult" trail and did just fine, even though we aren't in tip-top shape. Bring lots of water though and REAPPLY SUNSCREEN along the way! I brought a... More

This is a nice park just east of Apache Junction. There is a pleasant hike to the top of Silly Mountain. It's not too high and although it has a short steep section, it is not a hard hike. The views at the top of the valley and Superstition Mountain are awesome! The down side? It is a park but... More

We visited with other 60+ friends but saw children in a wide range of ages scampering up and down the tails. No brochure but trails are clearly marked leading to gradual or more challenging climbs up and around this mountain which is dwarfed by its surrounding neighbors. Nice views from numerous available overlooks. A short nature trail identifies some desert... More
