This trip was highlighted by watching desert bighorn sheep fighting each other high on the rock ledges while a ewe waited for the winner. Although they pointed out where eagles had been there were none currently, hopefully they will be back. The captain narrated the trip and pointed out some of the rocks that were named for various people or... More

Overall, a very relaxing and scenic experience, especially in the summer, for around $22 per person. The paddleboat does a slow scenic cruise along the shoreline where the captain is on the lookout for wildlife along the shores or hanging from the cliffs. There is a narration during the cruise. Food and drinks are cash only. It is nice to... More

Great trip for Arizona visitors to see the spectacular Canyon Lake. It's a slow paced, relaxing cruise through the lake with the captain stopping to show points of interest and point out the wildlife on the mountain sides as you go. You could see numerous mountain goats and eagles, etc. You can sit indoors or outdoors and they have drinks... More

It was a nice ride on Canyon Lake. The captain narrates the trip and shows points of interest. There is plenty of wildlife to look for including eagles, sheep, waterfowl etc. We appropriated the various seating options; indoor or outdoor seating with protective covering or no covering. Our preteen girls liked it and didn't become "bored" with the experience. The... More

If you have not visit Apache Junction lately you are in for some real treats. Our Historic Highway 88 which leads to the Roosevelt Dam and is the bane to some drivers also leads to our beautiful lakes. All 3 lakes are man made and are fed by the Salt River. The Dolly cruises on the first lake so you... More

This excursion exceeded our expectations. We went with another couple and all thoroughly enjoyed the tour of Canyon Lake. We sat upstairs in the indoor section for a while and then went on to the outside deck to better enjoy the magnificent scenery and Superstition Mountains. The narrator did a good job - he was informative and entertaining. The background... More

Dolly Steamboat is a great way to spend a day. I got a discounted ticket from Arizona AAA and went midweek. Long ticket line and line to the boat. There is a nearby Cantina to enjoy as you wait. The actual boat ride lasts most of the afternoon as you cruise the lake with a well informed guide. We saw... More

My husband & I decided to take this relaxing boat cruise (1.5 hour Nature Cruise) at noon on Memorial Day weekend. We made the reservation about 1 month in advance (we were advised at least 2-3 weeks ahead for busy weekends). The only "glitch" was waiting in line for our boarding #'s at the will call window. We arrived at... More

We had made reservations for the Dolly Steamboat ride and arrived in advance as they recommended. We waited and waited, along with 10 -15 others. There was no one in the ticket booth for those who were there for will-call tickets or just for information. Finally the boat arrived from its previous trip and we figured that we would finally... My wife wanted to do something special for Mother's Day. So we took the entire family on the dinner cruise aboard the Dolly Steamboat. What a fabulous time we all had! First off the scenic views on the drive to Canyon Lake were amazing. Once we got to the dock we got our tickets and boarded the Dolly. We took... More
