Visited Whitefish Dunes and self-registered and paid. Am now being SUED by the State of WIsconsin and Door County for not paying the $10 fee. I paid, I have sent them letters, and even sent them the original form that I completed. They have not rescinded and I now have been summoned to court in October. How ridiculous can you... more

I like this place because you cannot help but to relax. It's a paradise of fresh air, great fresh food and beautiful surroundings. Great restaurants, especially if you love fish and tons of outdoor activities. Bicycle, boat, kayak, fish, golf (if you must) and shopping for pies (the cherries are unreal here and you will wish you could bring enough... more

Door County is a unique place in the Midwest, and offers lots to do, or nothing! If you are into water, then the 250 miles of coastline offers beaches, resorts, sailing, scenic tours, ferry boats to Washington Island, para-sailing, kayaking, canoeing and more. If you want to dine casually, there are great casual dining, and if you want to have... more

I really cannot imagine why everyone I know loves it so much. I hated it here. Went up the entire door peninsula-it all was boring. Now door county has a LOT of shops. But if you have been to one shop, you have been to them all. Door County is a giant tourist trap. Every place is expensive no matter... more

We have been going to Dorr County for many, many years, it is truly a beautiful place. We enjoy it during the "off" season. During the summer it is much too crowded and also can be pricey. There is something there for everyone, shops, golfing, beaches, parks, nice restaurants, etc. It is not the "Dells", thank goodness, no chain stores... more

My husband and I spent a few days in August 2007 in Door County. We stayed in Ephraim, but traveled up the penninsula visiting towns and seeing Washington Island, as well as down into the towns south of Ephraim. Overall: Great experience, especially if you enjoy boating, kayaking, lounging by the water. We enjoy "doing" things more, and not so... more

Such a wonderful trip we had to Door County! We live in the Chicago area and plan a trip to Door County at least 4 or 5 times each summer/fall. We always enjoy eating out, walking in the parks, visiting the lighthouses and just enjoying the natural beauty of the place. Our favorite places include Peninsula Park, Ellison Bluff Park,... more

This is a great place to visit during the month of October especially. Door County as the best Vinyards & Orchards in the whole of Wisconsin. Fantastic views & friendly people, check out the little shops in towns like, Sturgeon Bay, Egg Harbor & Sister Bay. There is a great English store called MADE IN BRITAIN located in Egg Harbor.... more

If you're considering Door County, WI for a nice weekend get-away, think no longer. I can't say enough to praise this place. The hotel to stay in - Ephraim Shores...you won't regret it. It's located across the street from the lake, providing an excellent view and a convenient location, right in the middle of Door County. Make sure to have... more

We like Door County although we thought it was a little cutesy in places. We decided to drive up to the top of the island and stay at the Wagon Wheel Resort. I'm not sure what we expected, but what we got was a funky old hotel, with shabby rooms that haven't been fresh in 25 years. Stained carpets, furniture... more
