We split our time visiting friends in Racine with spending four days in Door County, and we're so glad we did - from Sturgeon Bay north to Washington Island, there are at least six other small towns (Egg Harbor, Fish Creek, Sister Bay, Ellison Bay, Gills Rock, Baileys Harbor, etc.) that are so enjoyable to visit. So many small shops,... More

We have been to the Wagon Wheel resort a number of times over the years. The restaurant, bakery, and fish boil are very quaint and the food delicious. Our rooms have always been clean and adequate. If you want to go to a fancy schmancy big city hotel, go to Chicago. If you want a real "up north" experience, then... More

Next week we will be making our 5th visit to Door County. I have recently returned from 3 wks in Europe, 5 countries... mostly busy & crowded capitol cities. That was all wonderful, but now... I look forward to the laid back atmosphere of Door County where you can go from sailboats to farmyards and country barns in a few... More

This is the second time there and had a great time. The staff was friendly and very helpful for telling us good eating places to go to and giving up print out of the wineiers.. The resort was beautiful just like a resort in the Jamicia.. Rooms were great we had 5 in our party and stayed all in a... More

We did a package trip with them--zipline, segway (through another company), and kayaking and had a good time. Staff is very professional, friendly, and safety is a high priority. Zipline in Rowley's bay was a little lame--kind of small and not very high--will have to try their other zipline location sometime. Kayaking on the Mink River was fun--we didn't see... More

We were so looking forward to being in Door County, along lake Michigan. However, the Maiflies and/or gnats bummed us out all weekend. These pesky swarms were every where and soon in your mouth, nose, ears, hair, etc. Even the inside of my car is covered with insect bodies! We've spent June and August in Door County, only to be... I went there with my parents. We stayed for 2.5 days. It was definitely not enough! We were there before the season started, so a lot of things were not open yet. Still, we got to see a lot of the beaches and several lighthouses. It would be nice if we stayed for at least a week.

I first visited in the summer of 2007.....and it was a very unique and majestic place for being a part of the state of Wisconsin. Since then, I have been several times, unfortunately now longer living in near enough, but plan to one day return. The peninsula has much to offer for those that wish to escape their every struggles... More

When I had a friend from New England who complained constantly about how ugly Illinois is (and the Midwest as a whole) compared to the New England states he was used to I packed our bags and drove him from Chicago to Door County, Wisconsin for a Fall camping trip. I photographed him pointing from a rock outcropping pointing towards... More
