We—mom, dad, and two kids--came here first in 1982. Wondering now why we waited so long to return! Spent a wonderful week in Door County the last week of July celebrating our 50th Wedding Anniversary with those same two kids plus their families and friends of ours. Rented a beach house on Lake Michigan, just north of Jacksonport on the... More

A visit to the Door County Peninsula is worth your time. Starting at Sturgeon Bay, you can see the Canal Light House and North Pierhead Light. The lights can be seen by following Canal Drive to the end from Highway 42/57. Two completely different lights. You can not go up in either, but interesting to see the difference. Travel up... More

We came here for a family vacation last year and had a great time. This year, we are out and about and seeing more of the spots and meeting more people. It's really a fantastic spot...funky, friendly, and cool. What's better than that?

Going to Door County is a very relaxing getaway. So much like New England with great places to stay, amazing scenery, wonderful restaurants and fun shopping. We stayed at the Settlement IN and they couldn't have been nicer. Our room was huge and had a fireplace, kitchenette and LOTS of space. We will be going back there for sure. The... More

I don't actually have a bucket list but Tim and I are trying to visit each one of the 50 states. So a visit to Wisconsin fit into our time visiting Chelsea in Carmel, IN. Door County is absolutely breath-taking. Worth a longer, relaxing visit! Maybe someday.

The shoreline of Door County is much of its attraction and there are several parks that facilitate walking along it or launching your kayak. There are lakes which accommodate kayaking as well as the waters of Lake Michigan which can be a little daunting depending upon the wind direction. The weather can be a little cool for kayaking even when... More

Just saying my piece after a few bad reviews from others. Geez people. They are DOGS! I love my dog immensely, but he is a dog. They don't speak our same language and you have to stop putting human emotions on them. That being said, we've used it before and are going again. You are right that Dave isn't "Mr.... More

We split our time visiting friends in Racine with spending four days in Door County, and we're so glad we did - from Sturgeon Bay north to Washington Island, there are at least six other small towns (Egg Harbor, Fish Creek, Sister Bay, Ellison Bay, Gills Rock, Baileys Harbor, etc.) that are so enjoyable to visit. So many small shops,... More

We have been to the Wagon Wheel resort a number of times over the years. The restaurant, bakery, and fish boil are very quaint and the food delicious. Our rooms have always been clean and adequate. If you want to go to a fancy schmancy big city hotel, go to Chicago. If you want a real "up north" experience, then... More

Next week we will be making our 5th visit to Door County. I have recently returned from 3 wks in Europe, 5 countries... mostly busy & crowded capitol cities. That was all wonderful, but now... I look forward to the laid back atmosphere of Door County where you can go from sailboats to farmyards and country barns in a few... More
