The fishing isn’t bad, some nice bass on occasions. Enter the lake by one of the backside boat docks, Vandilla boat ramp is good place to start. I would avoid traveling on the main lake at very high speeds, and keep to “your right hand side of the lake”….”which is the law” anyway. This lake is long, twisty and somewhat... More

I fish stonewall for largemouth bass atleast once a week. You wont catch numbers as compared to sutton or cheat but you'll make up for it in quality. The average bass for me seems to be between 2.5 to 4lbs with several 5 to 8 pounders. Fishing in the spring is good but by far fall fishing is the best.... More

stonewall jackson lake near weston wv is a number one lake for bass fishing in w.va with bass in the five to seven lbs range. i havent fished there this year(2003) because of a rainey spring which has made the lake high and muddy.'hope to get there soon. jack More
