I reasearched river trips and I called ACE. They were extremely helpful over the phone. They helped guide me to a weekend trip package including meals that really fit my needs. I arrived late the night on the 17th after the office had closed. They had all the information I needed left out for me. This made it very easy... More

I love rafting on the new river, I've gone two years in a row with both ace and adventures on the gorge. I love the adrenaline rush on the rappids. I can't really swim all that great but the guides are very knowledgeable and make you feel safe.

Many people refer to the New River Gorge as the Grand Canyon of the East. It is a pristine rugged area with a powerful scenic river running through its core. The New River flows in a northwestward direction, and despite its name is one of the oldest rivers in the world. Moreover, with twenty-two sets of rapids this ancient river... More

WOW!!! The bridge festival at the New River Gorge was awesome, what an experience. We will return every year for this event. Everyone was so friendly from where we parked to catch a bus (they even fed everyone that wanted a meal all day) we had breakfast before and lunch when we returned at no charge. We parked at Lighthouse... More

What a great day. Labor Day and Memorial Day they have buy one get one free specials. We picked Labor Day because the water is warmer! The time from check in to actually getting in a raft on the river is almost 2 hrs--that stunk, but once on the river it is a great ride and Rebecca was a great... More

I went whitewater rafting on the New River with my brother and a group of my friends, and had the time of my life. The Upper New River was a little slow and uneventful, but would be perfect for younger/less experienced rafters. The Lower New on the other hand was fantastic. My group liked it so much that we did... More

We rafted the Lower New River and had an excellent time- our guide Raina was fabulous and provided great guidance in navigating the Class III, IV and V rapids. She entertained us with the history of the area. We also exited the boat and floated through the slot as well as jumped off a boulder into the water below. We... More

I've rafted the New River so many times that I've lost count. This is one of the oldest rivers in the world. As the seasons change so does the water level and current speed. If you are a first time rafter, wait until the late spring or early summer because it turns into a completely different river when the water... More

The New River is the most advanced river I've done. With Class III and IV rapids, we navigated immense boulders and powerful eddies (currents opposite to the river's current). For context, Class V is the highest you can take people for recreation; beyond that you're professional. At times the raft felt like it was vertical, but surely it wasn't. We... More
