I went here for Mother's Day with my 12 year old daughter. Falls were located a 3-4 minute walk from the parking lot. We climbed on top of a large flat rock right next to the twin falls and a lunch with the best view I have ever seen :) you definitely want to make sure you have plenty of... More

Definitely a hidden gem. We recently moved to the area and will be coming back to this park frequently. There are lots of picnic areas, 18+ miles of hiking/mountain biking trails, and a beautiful lookout to the falls. There's also about 2 miles of great paved road that can be used for road biking. Really glad we hiked this park,... More

While I'm not a West Virginia resident, I have been working in the Fairmont area for a while now... and this is one of my favorite quiet and beautiful escapes from the noise of the city. This is a hidden gem tucked away a short 20 minute drive off of I-79. It is worth the detour off the beaten path.... More

An amazing park what a pretty place. Great hiking and wonderful scenery. Very relaxing to just sit and listen to the waterfalls. Only suggestion I would recommend it making hike to the falls a little more handicapped friendly.

Took the Rocky Trail out and Rhododendron Trail back. The trails are fairly well marked. While Rocky Trail is a steady and at times steep path it's not a rock scramble so it's very doable. Saw A LOT of deer. Beautiful hiking spot.

I have been here several times through out my life since its in my hometown. Valley Falls is a State Park located approx. seven miles outside the city limits of Fairmont. Its sits along the Tygart Valley River and features a half-mile stretch of waterfalls. There are picnic areas and pavilions for rent as well as playground areas for kids.... More

Beautiful falls in an out of the way little park but well worth the drive. It's an easy walk to the falls in a quiet park. Picnic area, trails, restrooms and a playground are available. You may luck out and have the park to yourself to enjoy the uniquely beautiful falls and rocky river. A special place.

My parents (in their mid 60s) went to Valley Falls State park. My father had been very ill and this was the first time in over a year he felt like doing anything recreational. They packed a nice picnic lunch and their camera. After accidentally missing a sign that said they could not park in an area the "Ranger" immediately... More

We really enjoy climbing on the rocks and enjoying the peaceful sounds and views. Great for a picnic on the rocks or down near the water. It was one of our first dates, and we're planning our wedding there for next spring!
