That's the only good thing I can say about this aquarium. What a disappointment! Especially from a "National" Aquarium. It was dark, dirty and seemed uncared for. It's true, you can find better at many pet stores! It does make a good story to tell your friends but that's about it! more

For only $7, it wasn't bad. It was kinda tiny - you basically walk around a circle. But they had some cool fish in there - very tropical colors too. I'd go again because it was only $7 - but the parking was $14 for a little over an hour! They search your car like no tomorrow! All in all,... more

This is by far the worst aquarium I've ever been to. I was just trying to pass time in the morning before my son took his morning nap and we only got about 10 minutes out of this dark alley of fish tanks. Only worth it if you are willing to donate $7 and have absolutely nothing else to do.... more

This aquarium is perfect for a lazy afternoon when TIME AND BUDGET IS LIMITED. Yes, the Baltimore aquarium is bigger and better but so is the price, not to mention the extra travel time. My daughters and I had so much fun photographing the various marine animals. What would have been a 15 minute walk became nearly an hour-long photo... more

They should call this place the National Fish Tanks. If it was free it might be worth looking at to kill time between other attractions, but $7.00 and $3.00 is ridiculous. You can find a better setup in some pet stores, maybe even Wal-Mart. Give your money to the beggars on the streets of DC before wasting it here. more

I was really disappointed when visiting this aquarium. You would expect more considering it is the national aquarium. The aquarium is located in the basement of a building, it is very small and dark. My biggest surprise was when I realized we had seen everything in about 10 minutes! If you really want to see aquatic life, spend the extra... more

I agree with all of the other reviews of this "attraction"- don't bother! All of the other museums are definitely must sees, so we had no cause to believe the aquarium would be any different. Boy were we disappointed! $7 a person for less than a 5 minute walk, viewing tanks with small amphibians in them. I could see the... more

I try to be open-minded when reading online reviews about places. So even though there was little good said about the DC National Aquarium, my son and I went anyway during our recent weekend trip to DC. Unfortunately, the reviews are correct. The place is small and over-crowded, it's located in the basement of a building (which I found to... more

Although this is called the National Aquarim and is situated in side of the department of commerce building, it is only "national" in name only. There is a $7 enterance fee for a 5- 10 minute walk through. I was expecting to see large sea mamals but they only had small things such as snakes, frogs, octopus basically everything that... more
