I've seen 2 shows here in the last two months - Blithe Spirit and Dame Edna's farewell show. Both were excellent. The theatre is a great place. The drinks are a bit pricey, but I guess you have to expect that. I found the balcony seats quite warm. We all know that heat rises, and it made those upper seats... More

I love this place. There are free movies here on Mondays during certain times of the year, and going to a live show is such a wonderful experience! Make a point to see a show here!

We attended Blithe Spirit, and really liked this venue. There's no shortage of restaurants in the area, and there's plenty of parking within a reasonable walk (though none associated with the theater). The acoustics and architecture are great.

I had the most wonderful evening seeing Angela Lansbury in "Blithe Spirit." It's one of those plays that have never gone off the stage, but this version was truly phenomenal. Seeing such a legend was an incredible treat and she gave the audience a masterclass on comedic acting. The theater is hardly opulent, but it's fine. Try to get seats... More

Saw "Blithe Spirit" with Angela Lansbury at the National Theatre. The theater is stunning and on par with many of the theaters in New York. This is Michael Blakemore’s revival of Noël Coward’s smash-hit comedy BLITHE SPIRIT. Ms. Lansbury plays Madame Arcati a medium supposedly able to get in touch with spirits of the departed on the "other" side. A... More

The National Theatre brings in touring productions. For a number of years, the offerings were less than ideal and not all that frequent. Recent offerings have been more interesting and higher quality (road company of Pipping and Blithe Spirit with Angela Lansbury). As far as the physical space itself, The National is the theater in DC that is the most... More

I love the National Theater. It has convenient parking and wonderful restaurants nearby. The staff is always friendly and extremely helpful. The theater itself is beautiful and has great acoustics. I would recommend orchestra or mezzanine levels as a preference but even the balcony offers great views and sounds.

The theatre is not only beautiful but also has comfortable seating. Sometimes the other theatres can be a little tight on leg room but that was not the case. I recently saw Pippen and it was fantastic!

This was my first visit to the National Theatre in Washington DC. We had tickets to see the "Broadway" production of "Pippin." The location for the theater is ideal as it is close to the Metro Center Station of the DC Metro subway system. The building is quite old but well kept and clean. We had seats in the Mezzanine... The National Theater is one of my favorite spots in DC to catch a quality performance. The audience is mostly locals and the location is easily accessible by Metro (Federal Triangle/Reagan building). This year this theater is hosting the most Broadway shows in DC with many of the Broadway casts. All seats have fantastic views- this is more true of... More
