Having worked in hospitality all my working life, a goal was to one day visit this historical bar. Well, wish I just left as a goal. In the bar, you can imagine the conversations, the people, the staff of years gone by, who sat around the bar chatting about things that would change the world, but....... I hope back then... More

Nice atmosphere for a quiet drink. Decent bar menu, recommend the club sandwich, but skip the shrimp cocktail. The mint julep was somewhat tasteless.

In early June we had to reschedule a birthday celebration for my father (who had turned 89 at that day) from BEFORE a show at the National Theater next door at the Cafe du Parc to AFTER the show quite late, after 11pm, at the Round Robin Bar. Can you imagine what happened? In an exceptional gesture of kindness and... More

Met a friend for a glass of wine. Wonderful bar - typically wonderful bartenders who are more than welcoming. Unfortunately, that afternoon, the bartender decided that he needed to card my friend and myself - really? Watching as he went around the rest of the bar - no one else was carded that afternoon. I am in my 50's -... More

Very Washington DC-ish, for what that's worth...the bartenders were OK but not memorable and the atmosphere was cozy and chummy. The mint julips are the star here...bring a friend and remind yourself that you're in a Southern town, after all. When you're down, cross the street to the White House!

Tiny glass, $10 drink, but I guess that is the price you pay to have a drink in history. Excellent service.

Fantastic bar, the food in the bar area is excellent, and the drinks are wondefully made. A great place to sit back and enjoy the night.

This is the second time we stopped here for a drink. The first time I had their signature drink and it was so strong I couldn't drink it. Loved their bar snacks though so that's why we went back. Yep, we stayed at the JW across the street but their bar doesn't serve complimentary snacks. This time the drink was... More

You have to learn a little bit about the history of the hotel in order to fully appreciate it. The bartenders can share many interesting details, if they are not too busy as this place is popular. Yes, the drinks and food are a bit expensive, but you are in DC, so they are comparable with pretty much every other... More

We stayed at this hotel. My daughter and I have a tradition of going into the lounge, she gets a shirley temple while I sip a glass of wine. I asked if it was appropriate for her to be in The Round Robin when we checked in. We were told absolutely, no problem, just sit at a table instead of... More
