Nicely located but not the Image of King I prefer

I saw on PBS that this was the 1043 model selected by the King Family. Usually reserved for presidents, the King Memorial was an exception that is on the Tidal Basin in DC. It's... read more

I saw on PBS that this was the 1043 model selected by the King Family. Usually reserved for presidents, the King Memorial was an exception that is on the Tidal Basin in DC. It's Very peaceful at night and I appreciate the quotes on the wall. However, I DO NOT LIKE the face of MLK and am surprised his family... More

This is located between the Lincoln and Roosevelt Monuments and is both a great place to consider changes to our world and kids can burn off some energy. Easy to walk to but little parking is nearby

It was truly amazing to see the work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. memorialized in this fashion. It is definitely worth stopping to see, and take some pictures.

This was a wonderful site to visit. I was in awe of the enormity of the stone work and felt it very fitting how all the monuments sat looking towards each other. We visited lye afternoon as the sun was setting and it was lovely and peaceful.

I think this is one of the best memorials that I have seen. The design is very impressive marking such a giant of world history in a very appropriate way.

Really well done memorial highlighting some of MLK's greatest achievements in a tasteful way. If you're an artist there's some great spots for sitting and sketching the memorial at your leisure.

I have visited this beautiful memorial on several occasions. No matter the time of year, it is always inspiring. The theme of the impressive sculpture of Dr. King is "From a Mountain of Despair, A Stone of Hope." Very fitting. It also has some of Dr. King's famous quotes. When you are in DC, do not miss this memorial and... More

MLK was a man of great wisdom and his quotes display his wisdom more than anything else. The statue of MLK was large and very nice in our opinion. The view of Thomas Jefferson Memorial across the water is also very nice. Close to Lincoln Memorial.

For such a divine human being, this memorial does not do his legacy justice. The Reverend changed the course of human history with his feet. And his feet are not even carved into the stone. Also the work does not appear to be done by hand. It seemed as though it was machine carved. Visiting this monument saddens me.
