Modern monument

Monumental statue and memorial in white stone. Really stands out as a more modern and more on the massive side compared to the other nearby classic monuments. Well worth a visit.

Lovely location. The sculpting is poorly done. Dr. King stands with his arms crossed. He looks angry and surly.

I visited the memorial two years ago as it was being finished, so it still had some construction materials around. This time though, everything looked great. I went with a Park Ranger while on a night walking tour, and I learned so much more about the memorial than I ever would have just walking on my own. The thought put... More

Saw this memorial twice. First time in the evening, next time during the day. This memorial is simple but powerful and grand with a full wall of MLK's segment of speeches throughout his lifetime. A huge statue of the man standing in front of his speech is present.

Definitely not in the line of sight of the other popular monuments, but worth making your rounds to go see it - beautifully done

Over the past 25 years since I had been back to DC, there are several new attractions and monuments including the WWII Monument, Korean War, Holocaust Museum and the MLK memorial". I thought it was a great memorial utilizing both the visual and emotional. We went in the evening, as had been recommended by other reviewers, and the lighting was... More

Must see if in DC for it's historical value. Great scenery for pictures. Quiet and a good place to reflect.

This was a great memorial--the setup and the memorial itself is awe-inspriing. The many quotes on the wall were very poignant. Very impressed with this memorial. Highly recommend.

A beautiful monument. We visited earlier in the day and it wasn't crowded at all. Loved walking around and reading the MLK Jr. quotes. An easy walk from the FDR monument.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial is very thought-provoking and moving. The quotes are particularly fitting, and the location is perfect. I have seen the memorial both in the daytime and at night time, and the memorial actually looks better at night. Kudos!
