Much better tribute in Atlanta. If you are a KING-ophile like me, you will be much better served at the Atlanta tribute.

Dr. King's monument in DC was long overdue and I was so excited when they announced plans for it. I was also a bit nervous that such a monument could not capture the greatness he represents and would be a disappointment as the pictures did but seem to match his awe. I came in from Dr Kings right side. I... More

All I can say is that regardless of where you come from a visit to this monument is absolutely inspirational. I was in absolute awe of MLK. He was such a great man who left his footprint on the sands of time.

This memorial is extremely moving. It is filled with great MLK Jr. quotes that will give you chills. I would recommend that everyone meandering in DC pass through here at some point.

This memorial is very moving. One must pass through a valley to get to the actual sculpture of Martin Luther King. He is solemn yet resolute in expression. The monument looks directly across the water to the Jefferson Memorial.

I hesitated seeing the attraction because I'd seen so many pictures but I'm glad I went because the pictures didn't do the attraction justice. There's so much detail, it's hard to take it all in during the initial visit. Such a magical experience that really makes you grateful for all of the things MLK did bring everyone together!

The memorial site was a great experience to partake. There should be some way you can record your name that you visited this particular site & also this would be a count of how many people actually visit the memorial.

We had the chance to visit the MLK National Memorial on a Thanksgiving trip to DC in Nov. 2011. Although it was a bit tricky to get to the location on a very cold and windy day....it did not damper the excitement of our kids when they stood in front of the Memorial. Beautiful tribute to an amazing man who... More

A decent tribute to an important historical figure. So many quotes around the walls surrounding his statue give cause to consider all that is still to be fulfilled from his vision. Great place to reflect and pray.
