We need to go back. We looked online at the website and it said they would be open until 7 pm. We planned our day accordingly and got there about 4 pm. What a disappointment that the last tour had already left and that things were closing down in the gift shop. Open until 7 pm meant that they had... More

went there for Mercy Sunday service. It was incredible...the service was to honor the military. There were nuns from many orders, several priests, a Biship who was in Rome for the passing the Pope, and the military was well represented. Aside from the service the Cathedral and grounds are full of history and simply a very moving experiance. More

This is a neat place to visit--it has many church scenes that are done in mosaics, and there's another church below the main church. Lots of seniors go here for a lunch/brunch thing at reasonable prices. More

This attraction is amazing. For Catholics, this depicts the love we have for Mary, the mother of Christ, from the perspective of Catholics from around the world. There are 77 chapels in this most amazing basilica; you could spend an entire day roaming from chapel to chapel. This was one of the highlights of my trip. It reinforces the history... More

We went on Good Friday but missed the mass. The place is magnificent and it doesn't matter what religion you are, you will love it. Its so great to see places like this in the US. Photos are allowed, visit should take about an hour, visit all the floors, including the bookstore in the basement. More

Even if you are not Catholic, I highly recommed you visit the Basilica. Parking is ample, free, great cafeteria, great gift shops. Many chapels to meditate, pray, light candles. Beautiful art work to see. Special Masses are awesome to attend. More

This is one of the most beautiful churches I have ever visited. The many chapels honoring Mary, the Mother of God, are unique, awe-inspiring, and lovely. There are many artifacts of the Catholic Church on display as well as statues of saints, especially American saints. Attending Mass there was a great honor for me. It is also one the largest... More
