The USMC Drum and Bugle Corps were awesome, they play a good variety of music and the precision marching is amazing … perfection. The silent drill was outstanding, nerve racking and unfortunately not perfect. The sling broke at the buttstock swivel on one of the Marines M1 so he completed the routine without spinning the weapon through the air, the... More

I wanted to see this very badly but it only runs during the spring and summer months. I don't know exact months but was bummed to pay taxi fare to get there just to find out it wasn't happening :(

Anyone who is a Marine (past or present) MUST plan to see this. You need to get tickets in advance. And it is easy to get to via DC's transportation system.

Full discloser ... I am a United Stated Marine (1974-1978). I have been to the Sunset Parade at least five times and I could go another 50 times. It is the most impressive military parade on the planet. I visit Washington DC on business a few times a year. I always try to get last minute tickets. I would recommend... More

Although I lived in DC for more than six years, I only attended this ceremony when I was in town for a family member's graduation. I wish I had gone much sooner. The tribute to the men and women of the USMC is moving, and as an American it was hard to not get choked up. It is marked by... More

As ex service personnel from England this really appealed to me and it didn't disappoint! The band was brilliant, especially not using music sheets, and they sure played a lot of music and their marching was spot on. The silent drill outstanding and nerve racking In fact the whole show was the best parade I have ever seen by any... More

The grounds are small and a lot of folks want to attend. The show is great and the area is safe. About 2 blocks south of the subway, on the same street. Get your tickets early in the year, it sell out fast. A number of places to eat on the block just north of 8th & I.

Impressive! Makes you happy to be American. Make sure you get there early. I've been to the one on Tuesday and the one on Friday. Both are amazing. The band and silent drill platoon never cease to amaze. Those guys are so talented

This was the last U.S. Marine Sunset Parade of the season at the Barracks and I'm so glad I got the chance to go. A nice young Marine gave me a ticket while I was waiting in the general admission line. If you don't have a reservation you'll have to wait and hope you get a seat. I heard that... More
