Everyone visiting DC needs to go here. Get oriented first by attending the movie shown at the Castle so you have an overview of all the museums.

We visited on thanksgiving to the air and space muesum, muesum of natural history, and American history. Nice day to spend with the kids on the holiday. There is no where to check your coats.

Lots of great stuff to see with kids! Loved being able to do the city as a local using Metro. Try to avoid peak time in the evening if you can as seats on the Metro are in short supply.

Amazing all the Smithsonian museums/galleries are free. I loved the National Portrait Gallery, went back 3 times. Great cafe in a covered atrium in the centre.
