We got our tickets online prior to the trip and it worked out great. The museum is nicely remodeled and the presentation from the park service was engaging and unique. The tour included a walk through the house where Lincoln died, across the street. Great Washington attraction. more

This is still one of my most favorite museums in DC! The history of events and the day of Lincoln's assassination is so interesting! However, I visited this museum a couple times 12-18 years ago and was a bit disappointed this time around as it wasn't exactly how I remembered it. The museum has been remodeled, and while still telling... more

You get some great insight into the the day Lincoln died by visiting Ford's Theater, especially if - like me - you haven't read much about it. The museum is great and the ranger had a lot of good information. Your ticket also gets you into the Peterson House where he died - as long as you visit on the... more

The new museum in the theater basement had just opened and has some fascinating exhibits It definitely adds to the experience. The Ranger talk was also very good and moving. The Peterson House also should be seen, Although the lines look long, they moved quickly. more

We got tickets on line and was so glad we did. We went in July during high tourist season and the tickets were gone early in the am. Be sure to do the Ranger talk that gives the history of what happened that night to Lincoln. It is amazing to hear and then go over to the Peterson house and... more

Just visited Ford's Theatre this week. Decided to make that our first stop and expected to just pick up tickets for a later time that day. To our suprise, they were just letting a group in and there were still tickets available(tickets are free) so we strolled right in. After the Park Ranger's talk, they asked everyone to check under... more

I went to Ford's Theater a couple years ago. I thought it was a very interesting experience and I discovered some things that I hadn't known before. I would recommend going to the Theater to anyone in the area. It's just a little piece of history that you can be involved in. more

Visited the newly refurbished theatre. In the foyer was Lincoln's coat he was wearing at the time of his assasination. I beleive this is only on show for a short period of time due to it's fragile condition. Inside you can see the Presidential box restored along with the rest of the theatre. We were lucky to see the opening... more

Took the "tour" of the newly renovated Ford's Theater. There was about 200+ people per timed, hourly entry. We were led into the orchestra section of the Theater and remained seated as the ranger delivered about a 30-minute oral presentation. Pictures were permitted in the Theater. After the talk, people proceeded across the street to view the boarding house where... more

I was surprised to see this attraction as low as the 50th+ ranked in the DC listing. Granted, most people will go to the more well-known attractions such as the Smithsonian Museums, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, etc(especially first time visitors). but if you get a chance, please seek this one out! It is run by the National Park... more
