Standing the spot in which Martin Luther King JR. spoke the famous I have a dream speech while looking out towards the capitol is a moment i will treasure for the rest of my life. The Lincoln Memorial should not be missed by anyone in DC! more

I have been there so many times, but each time I feel the need to sit down and read both speeches - this time I was able to read them to my seven year old and even he could understand the importance of the words. Truly a not to miss attraction if you are in DC. more

Honestly, it's almost hard to be superlative enough about the Lincoln Memorial, especially after so many have reviewed it so accurately already. You already know you are going to see it if you visit DC, but it may well be the best (most impressive, most inspiring, etc) sight to see there. The size is the first thing that strikes you... more

Paid a visit to this monument for the first time in about 23 years. A great place to visit, not only for the great man he was but also for all the movies that's been filmed on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial like Wedding Crashers, and In the Line of Fire. A nice little book store is located in... more

Not only were we impressed by the magnificent statue of Lincoln we were enthralled by the park ranger's talk which was a wonderful account of Lincoln's life. The ranger was so passionate and interesting that the time flew as he talked and we learned so much from him. If you enjoy having history brought to life this is a must... more

The Lincoln Memorial is as impressive as all the previous reviewers have described. It is incredible to think that you are standing where so many important events have taken place, especially in the Civil Rights movement. One thing that surprised us is that there is not direct public transportation to the Memorial on weekends. We happened to go on the... more

One of the many monuments on the Mall, but easily one of the most inspiring. Take the time to reflect here on just how important Lincoln was to the course of our country's history, and how tragic it was for his life to be cut short. For the best lighting of Lincoln inside the monument for picture taking, try earlier... more
