I have been going out on the Sound for about 20 years. My brother had a sailboat with a small diesel engine and we went gunkholing many many times up into the San Juans & over to Victoria. These trips were 99.9% peace, serenity and calmness and .1% sheer terror. You must watch out for the weather and where you... More

& I was looking for places to visit nearby. I did not find any that interested me, so I didn't go. The Washington State ferry system is getting an overhaul & some new ferries but the service has become unreliable because of new regulations ie if a crew member can't make it to work scheduled sailings are cancelled becos the... If you are visiting Seattle, you can get a beautiful view of its skyline from Puget Sound. On a clear day, take the ferry to Bainbridge Island for lots of photo opportunities of both Seattle and Mount Ranier. The ferry to Bainbridge is just $8 round trip.

I went boating on the Puget Sound on 9/1/2013 and it was a sunny warm 80 degree day. Sights include the Tacoma Narrows Bridge, Pt. Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, Trees, marine life including seals, otters, Jelly Fish, Birds, etc, Mt. Rainier was standing tall and clear and could see all the way to Olympia. All in all it was a... This is the best place to be if you are a firework display enthusiast! At the right time and vantage, you will be surrounded by myriads of fireworks going on at the same time. Spectacular vision!

Scuba Diving Magazine puts Puget Sound into the category of possibly one of the best diving spots in the US. While their judgment may be slightly overrated, I believe Puget Sound still has a lot to offer divers. I can't really fully judge, since I have only dived there a couple of times, with poor visibility, but I was quite... More

I lived in Washington State for a few years and was privileged to see many beautiful places in the Puget Sound area. Whidbey Island tops the list, Deception Pass, Coupeville and Fort Casey in particular. Then heading north to Fidalgo Island, Anacortes is a big little city with lots to do and see. Tulips bloom for miles and miles in... More

My husband and I had a trip of a lifetime on the beautiful Safari Endeavor!! It was so nice just to get away and spend some quality time getting spoiled together. American Safari Cruises does an incredible job going above and beyond travelers' expectations. Even the planning process was a breeze as Adventure Life took care of all of the... More

After taking the Clipper from Victoria BC to Seattle and not seeing much scenery because of mist, the trip back on Amtrak was going to be the last chance. Sitting on the left hand side of the train, we enjoyed seeing American farms with red barns and corn, small American towns, the nuclear powered USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier at... More
