Glen Canyon National Recreation Area is 1.2 million acres of gorgeous land formations. It runs from Lee's Ferry. Arizona to the Orange Cliffs of Utah. It is at the center of the Colorado Plateau. The Colorado River passes through as well as it's many tributaries like the Green River. People swim in the Colorado River but 45-55 degree F is... More

From Hall's Ferry at Lake Powell we were traveling to Capitol Reef and passed through Glen Canyon. We completely enjoyed the scenery and the lack of traffic. We only saw 4 cars coming the other direction. The scenery is magnificent. We have traveled through here before in the Summer but the traffic can be quite annoying with tourists stopping in... More

If you are planning a trip around getting across the lake by ferry, don't bother going here. We came to Hall Crossing from Natural Bridges. At no point was there any signs saying the ferry was broken. We even paid the $15 to get in the area with the sole purpose of crossing the lake to motorcycle through Capitol Reef.... More

Drove down to Bullfrog and Lake Powell, the park offers a huge marina, boat rentals, storage areas, campground, beaches, stores although a little limited and even a school. Take time to look at the beautiful cliffs that surround the lake, it's a lake like no other. Would suggest you take lunch and picnic.

I drove through what is a miniscule part of the GCNRA on my journey south east on Highway 95 from Capitol Reef NP to Natural Bridges NM, and beyond, as part of my month-long tour of the Utah/Arizona natural attractions last year. The opening of the terrain in front of you, from what is for some 40 miles a lengthy,... More

Just returned from a trip to Lake Powell and went on the 4 hour smooth water Float Trip that leaves from the Glen Canyon Dam and meanders down the Colorado River to Lee's Ferry. Have to say it was a highlight of my 2 week vacation that encompassed 5 National Parks/Recreation Areas/Ntl Monuments (and incidentally, two other Lake Powell boat... More
