It is a great family river to raft. We started taking our kids about 5 years ago. I feel very safe on this river compared to others we have rafted in GA. Easy put in, clean water (it is a managed release). There are several companies to select from. We have used a few and were pleased with them all.... More

This was a family vacation. We experience Dolly wood and some attractions along the main strip. The hotel we stayed in was called Mainstay and it had a lazy river and an outdoor and indoor swimming pool. I must admit we enjoyed the stay at the hotel more so than the sites of Pigeon River. The hotel also had a... More

Rafting on the Pigeon River is a real blast. The guides are totally awesome and the beautiful mountains surrounding the river will leave you breathless. The cold water and class 3 and 4 rapids are incredible and our family can't wait to experience it again!

Recently I wrote a review about Pigeon Forge not Pigeon River. I don't know how my review ended up on the Pigeon River page. Please disregard my review for Pigeon River. The review I wrote is for Pigeon Forge. Thank you travelers, Brian

Just returned from a 4-day motorcycle trip through western NC and eastern TN to see some seasonal wonderfulness. If I had to do it over, I would NEVER have included Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg in my itinerary. US321 was a totally clogged artery, forcing me to experience the non-stop pancake houses, carney rides, and every man-made nightmare invention that, in total, is... More

We stayed in a cabin with the river just behind us. It was so beautiful and the sound was very relaxing! We tried to fish but the water was to low. Still a great place to go to relax or picnic.

It's the Little Pigeon River that's in Pigeon Forge. There is no possibility of taking a photo with a raft full of people on whitewater on the Little Pigeon River. No one in their right mind comes in any contact with the Little Pigeon. It has been polluted, mostly with fecal matter, for many, many years. This is true for... More

Simply beautiful! My grandson had a blast playing in the water and to tell the truth, the rest of my family did also. A tread way to relax.

The best part of the Smokies is the Pigeon River with waters as clear as crystal and trout swimming in plain sight. I love the river so much that I almost always stay at a place that has a view of it from the balcony.
