Nice place to visit and see the scenic landscape. Access to the lake and trails is good. Nice hiking trails through mountain forests, with several brooks, creeks, and waterfalls.

This has got to be one of the most beautiful camping destinations! The lake is simply beautiful. We camped out on Devils Fork state Park. Came by boat across the lake and got to see most of the waterfalls! This place has so much to explore that you almost need 4 days to do it all. I already want to... More

This was our third time renting a pontoon boat and exploring lake Jocassee. We have found different things each time...a rock to slide from into the lake, waterfalls and islands to explore and have lunch at. We also rent a tube which the boat pulls around the wide open bodies of water making for lots of fun for the kids.... More

Let me start put by saying, this is one beautiful lake. Wife and I started doing these weekend trips throught our state we live in. We rented a canoe and went as far as our arms could take us. The sights are amazing the water was no colder than the Atlantic ocean. The rental I thought was a good price... More

Made a 3-day trip to Jocassee during my daughter's spring break, probably should have stayed for a week. The lake is beautiful and we hiked around to waterfalls and to see the endangered Oconee Bell flowers on a trail in Devil's Fork State Park. Overall a great outdoor experience.

If you hike and have access to this area of South Carolina be sure to visit the Duke hydroelectric plant area off SC 130. There are nicley markef trails in the complex that bring you to the Whitewater River and to the Lower falls viewpoint. There is a trail (blue blazed) that goes into the forest, meandering op and down... More

We live less than an hour away but this was our first trip to Jocasee as we joined a group of 20 on a hike and lake tour. What we discovered that day was one of the most beautiful lakes we've ever encountered. Besides a handful of houses and a few state park cabins, the shoreline is utterly devoid of... More

This lake is not as large as some of the lakes in South Carolina, but it is one of the most beautiful. With very limited housing development around this lake, it is much more natural and so beautiful. There is a waterfall tour that you can take with a low cost for a full day tour by pontoon boat. They... More

It felt like we were in the Alaskan wilderness at times...surrounded by mountains, beautiful waters, soaring eagles, beautiful waters. Honestly, this was one of our favorite family trips of all times. Getting away from our hectic schedules, this fam of 7 had a BLAST just playing together! We will for sure make this an annual trip! And there was hardly... More
