What do they not have that you could possibly want? Lots and lots of Christmas lights, roasting marshmellows, climbing wall, Carousel, shopping, walking along trails, enjoying the children laughing and playing. Just fun in general. My husband and I have decided to make this a Christmas tradition.

This was very impressive. The number of light displays and the number of sponsors to complete this display speaks volumes about the pride that the people of Charleston has for it city. Each new display brought many ooh's and aah's for the group. The lake display was very special with the fish jumping and the bridge going from the old... More

It was great as an adult, so I can just imagine going through as a kid. So many displays and lights it is one surprise after another. The weather cooperated, so seeing it from the back of a convertible made it pop even more. Every kind of figure you can imagine, made into lights. There is two lane traffic, so... More

This is a great show. There are all kinds of lights for all ages. Cars are backed up for about two miles. You drive through the attractions at between 5 to 10 miles an hour.

At this park there is something to do all year round! Great layout and easily can find your way around. Many things for all ages to entertain you. If you happen to be visiting around the holidays you have to go and ride through the Christmas lights display and visit the quaint little shops to buy that special souvenir!

http://www.charlestonlowcountry.com/specialpages/festivaloflights.html This should be an annual gathering for families. James Island has something for everyone and an extra…extra…special something around Christmas. We have made it 2 years in a row and regret not knowing about it when our girls were younger. Just MAGNIFICENT!!

Great dog park. We visited this park twice during our visit to the Charleston area. We have a Corgi (big dog attitude in a short legged body) and he had a great time with the dogs there. If you have a water lover, there is a pond for them to swim in. The park itself has many attractions for kids.... More

All I can say is "WOW". If you're planning on camping in the Charleston area, this is the place to go. Clean, spacious sites. You can be downtown in 15-20 minutes (depending on traffic), and you're also close to Isle of Palms, Folly Beach, and Kiawah. The dog park is expansive, with water for the dog to cool off. There's... My boyfriend and I went here to check out the dog park. There is a one dollar per person admission fee. They have cabins for rent, RV hookups, sheltered picnic areas, paved trails, a splash park/jungle gym for kids, and the dog park is huge. They even have a small pond that is attached so dogs can swim in it.... More

Our family just spent three nights in the campground at James Island. It was clean, friendly, and safe. Kids riding bikes everywhere!! Would highly recommend.
