I'd seen the Poconos on a search to buy a rural property this past winter. The Poconos is in Northeastern Pennsylvania roughly bounded by I-80, I-81, and I-84 primarily in the counties of Monroe, Pike, Wayne, and Carbon. It is not too mountainous and not overtly impressive in that sense but it is a good resort area especially in the... More

We heard and read many good stories, but after spending 3 hours there we felt we were there 3 days. The mountains were nothing special, supposed to be very scenic but we thought it looked rather sad. Also... More

For 14 years I lived here and hated it all. Unless you are deep into the mountains and are looking for a quiet "do nothing" experience then keep on going. All those heart-shaped tubs? They haven't been updated in 25 years. The resorts are old, moldy and the shame of the community. The talk is always about reinvigorating the area... More

Three couples and us went to visit friends in Arrowhead Lake, spent the day walking around and then went to the lake for the day. Very nice and relaxing. After dinner we drove to the Memorytown place for a Rodeo show that we saw in the pocono papers that we picked up at the Ahart's Supermarket. To see a real... More

My husband and I went to the Pocono Mountains for our 18th wedding anniversary. We stayed three days. We are home and we are still talking about what a great getaway. We were at the Cove Have Resort. We stayed at the Champagne Towers(suite). Our room was beautiful. We had a fireplace, jucuzzi, sauna(steam room), private pool, and a massage... More

Visited for the first time in April and stayed on Lake Harmony. Very nice and peaceful. Kids loved the beach area even though it was not swimming weather. Scenery is spectacular and we got lots of great pics. Great little weekend getaway!
