Having camped here as a kid, teen, with my children and now as a senior, this has got to be my favorite. Pet friendly camping was packed but quiet and people were courteous. My favorite trip was with my kids in the non-pet area when we watched a raccoon opening freezer chests and helping himself to fish, then in the... More

I was little sceptical about this place from some of the reviews. But glad I checked it out myself. We had an amazing day. The weather was perfect, beach was quite, loads of parking and super clean restrooms. We did go on a thursday, so can't comment on the weekend crowds. But I can imagine, this place can quickly turn... More

We were on our way to Lake Michigan and wanted to stop at Lake Erie. The campground had spacious sites and good amenities for our pop-up camper. It was convenient to shopping areas for stocking up on supplies. We spent a day at the lake there which we were disappointed with the beach and the lake for swimming. The beach... More

Beach was much smaller than I expected. But the park was pretty and clean. I definitely would recommend visiting.

There are many items available at the camp store for the odds and ends you forgot. We were a pretty late walk in, there was only one site left in "C." As such we had a smaller site with no shade. "B" has larger "pull through" sites but no pets are allowed. If you reserve online you can see a... More

Typical troubles of an overcrowded campground. Showers were cold, bathrooms were dirty and run down from overuse. Campsites are packed in like cordwood. This state park campground could be one of the best if they cut the number of sites in half. Until they do, I won't be back. Which means I won't be visiting it again because they won't... More

My large family (8 adults and 10 kids) has been camping annually at East Harbor for the last five years. After years of tent camping, this year we rented the two camper cabins. The cabins were clean and perfectly-suited for our family. They are air conditioned, which was absolutely wonderful as the temperatures reached the mid-90s and very humid. The... More

Our weekly family camping trip to East Harbor took place the last week of July 2015. The state park has been our family camping destination for the last 12 years. The sites are big enough for a camper and a tent. Our family usually gets 8-10 sites that back up to each other. We have RV's. campers and tents, all... More
