We visited the Finger Lakes Region for the first time in August of 2015. There is something for everybody here. Yes, there are the wineries, but there are also Microbreweries and even a Distillery. Natural Beauty abounds in the hiking trails, gorges and lake views. Dining options for everyone from Fried Chicken to Find Dining. Pick any of the lakes... More

The word is "Chosen Spot" in the local Indian dialect and it is. The town is quaint and filled with restaurants and antiques and the lake itself is perfect. You can take a ride on the Canandaigua Lady, paddle boat, or use your own; it is fantastic. LOVE it here. Rent a cottage for a week and enjoy!

The Finger Lakes is rich in history and historical landmarks. It offers an interesting geographical landscape from the gorges and waterfalls of Ithaca, Watkins Glen, and Moravia to the sweeping farm fields and vast grape vineyards that surround many of the larger Finger Lakes. The region is home to many talented artisans in several fields across the entire region whether... More

Had some days to enjoy the Finger Lakes. We concentrated on the Seneka wine trail. So many wineries, take your time and don't rush to try too many wineries, after 4, it all just tastes the same. We do 2 in the morning then have lunch, sit and take in the scenery then do 2 in the afternoon. This is... More

City malls and outlets, lakes and waterfalls, trails, camps and of course wineries. The area is has much to offer, just check online for cherry or peach peaking, canyons and waterfalls. There's a former marine training facility museum, Cornell U campus, smaller attractions of all kinds. And wineries everywhere, wine lovers heaven reminiscent of Italy or France and yet unmistakeably... More

Geographically the Finger Lakes Region of NY extends (roughly) between Rochester on the west to Syracuse on the east, a distance of 75 miles and to the Pa. border on the south. A Finger Lake must be glacially formed and empty to the north. The region officially(NYS) encompasses the area surrounding the 11 lakes (from west): Conesus, Hemlock (Onehda), Canadice,... More

Stayed in Geneva which is a great location for enjoying the finger lakes. Wineries on the East side are fabulous. I did not like the wineries in Keuka Lake.....too sweet!

With a draw- card name like Naples valley , we were sold. Walking around the village of Naples in this region of NY, we were amazed at the fondness for grapes and the colour of purple. Check this out.... here, the fire hydrants are painted purple, the police cars are painted purple - and they even have grapes painted on... More

Visiting the Finger Lakes is always a treat, especially when the fall colours are out. The scenery is lovely, Watkins Glen is interesting and beautiful and it's fun to visit wineries. The restaurants in the area have improved in the past few years and we enjoyed several excellent meals throughout the area. There is something for everyone here - wineries,... More
