The beautiful Valle Grande is the largest grass valley in Valles Caldera. It can be accessed from the observation points along the highway and from the National Preserve. My wife and I visited the Valle Grande, the newest of the National Park Service's Wildlife Preserve. A very special place indeed. A 15 mile wide ancient volcanic caldera, this place is absolutely beautiful. Recently designated (November 2014) as a National Preserve, it is still transitioning to the National Park Service.
