The campsite was a mowed patch in a tall grass field. The Going to Sun Road was spectacular. The lakes, vegetation and wildlife were punctuated with rivers and waterfalls. Saw mountain goats, marmots, big horn sheep, deer, and bear. It is a very slow must drive while there.

I now have a new definition for "awesome," and that is Glacier National Park. Better bring a bib, because you're going to spend the whole time with your mouth hanging open. Spectacular view after spectacular view awaits you as you wind up the mountain toward Logan Pass and the Continental Divide at 6600+ feet. It's just breathtaking. You will quickly... More

After going to many different National Parks in the States, this one will always remain to be my favorite park. The views are beyond compare, and the wildlife is abundant! There are several places to stop to takes hikes or view a lookout. Going to the Sun road is a must when visiting. Do yourself a favor and visit this... More

We visited the third week in Aug. The views were fabulous. The 4 mile hike to Avalanche Lake was great. We backpacked to lower Kintla Lake and day hiked to upper. The views were fantastic. We did have a close encounter with a black bear twice so bring bear spray just in case. Be prepared for winter weather. It was... More

We traveled from San Diego to Glacier as we had heard that Glacier was one of the prettiest places on earth. We weren’t disappointed, but there are several things to consider before going. - Glacier is in the middle of nowhere. - Glacier is so big, there are 5 separate areas and depending on the time of year, you can’t... We visited Glacier NP in late August and the crowds were gone along with the good weather. When we visited the park was 20 degrees lower than usual with rain and overcast skies. We were able to hike and enjoy most of the park. The first day we utilized the free park shuttle service and it was great having an... More

Glacier National Park is a destination worthy of a special trip. The Going to the Sun Road offers many pull-offs, hiking trails of varying difficulty, and a very scenic drive seeing waterfalls, glaciers, and animals. The Junior Ranger program for children is very good, educational, and worthwhile. The problem is traveling when everyone else does. Parking at the Logan Pass... More

The views from Going to the Sun Road are awesome. The hiking was great and can be challenging so keep this in mind. Make sure you visit 'Hidden Pond' (park @ Logan Pass) - easy hike, great views and plenty of wildlife. Iceberg Lake is a good hike (10 miles round trip).

Glacier National Park is a "must-see" for travelers! The drive from West Glacier to Logan's Pass is spectacular with extraordinary views of the mountains and valleys. If you plan on stopping at Logan's Pass, however, be prepared to wait a while to find available parking. The parking lot is extremely small for the amount of vehicles needing to park there.... More

We saw bears, wild flowers, waterfalls, and had a great tour guide. Our tour guide knew a lot about this park and how the glaciers formed the mountains. Great tour for children to learn about how the mountains and valleys can be formed. The Red Jammer Buses are a great way to see the area. Can be crowded and loud.... More
