I feel guilty leaving a review when I only drove on it for about 60 miles, but it was a very beautiful drive. It was raining the whole time I was on the Trace but it was so lush and peaceful and full of life. Beautiful shades of green. I didnt pass too many cars coming from the opposite direction.... More

We drove the trace from Natchez to just south of Nashville where it ends. We detoured off and spent 2 nights in Vicksburg. We just took our time and enjoyed the beauty, quiet and peacefulness. We did quite a few of the trails and most of the historic and scenic stops. Starting from Natchez our first stop was the emerald... More

We had read about the Trace in our local travel section. My husband mainly wanted to drive with the top down, which isn't much fun on the highway. The highest speed on the trace is 50 MPH. The best thing about it though, is that there are no trucks, no billboards, and most of the time we were on it,... More

Recentlly drove along the Natchez Trace Parkway in Mississippi. We stopped first at a visitors center and spoke with the park ranger, who was very helpful. Make sure and stop at the Cypress Swamp. Take your time along the trails and enjoy the peace. More

The Natchez Trace Parkway covers over 444 miles, but we just did about 50 in the Natchez Area. There are several stops to make such as the Emerald Mound, Mount Locust Inn, and the Sunken Trace. There are facilities, National Park Centers, and scenic pull offs as well. We happen to be there the day they were burning some of... More

I drove the length of the Natchez Trace, from December 30, 2011 through January 1, 2012. The route meanders through lovely scenery, and has countless stops at both scenic and historic spots. There are hiking trails, places to walk some of the original route of the Trace, great views of the surrounding area, forests, waterfalls, farms, fields, streams, rivers -... More

I don't know why the Natchez Trace parkway doesn't attract more visitors... It's a perfectly maintained road that parallels the main highway, but it's so much more beautiful to drive on! If I lived there, I would never use the highway, but travel in the Natchez Trace every day... We took the road from the Cypress Swamp all the way... More

My wife and I spent a week driving the Trace which is about 400 miles. Along the way we stopped at Indian Mounds, Waterfalls, picnic grounds. We stayed at motels and B&B's. We took side trips to The Hermitage in Nashville, a Frank Lloyd Wright house in Florence Alabama, The Vicksburg battle field, antibellum homes in Ntachez, Mississippi. The weather... More

We began our trip down the Natchez Trace Parkway on the last day of the year, with the very strongly recommended beginning, breakfast at Loveless Cafe. But they open at 7:00am, if you're going all the way today, be there early. Weather was fine, restrooms were well distributed and surprisingly clean, modern and well maintained, not primitive, as I was... More
