The St. Croix is a wonderful river for boating and fishing, unless it is on the weekend. Weekends tend to be a little crowded, especially in the various no wake zones. But still, marvelous scenery and in most places you can avoid the wakes of the big boats.

The river offers many venues from small town festivals, camping, canoeing, hiking, biking, and adventure parks. You will come back over and over to this area because there are many places and activities to share.

The Upper St. Croix River Valley is one of the Most Scenic Wild Rivers in the Country. Rent a car for a day or drive from Stillwater, MN (great local town) North on MN 95 to US 8, Head East about 3 miles and you find two great State Parks on opposite sides of the St. Croix river. Rent a... More

While we preferred our trip to Stillwater, MN on the St. Croix River, over our time in Hudson, WI on the St. Croix River; Hudson does have a nice beach with restroom/changing facilities and and area to rinse off the sand after a day of play. For sight seeing and scenic views, Stillwater is the better option.

We are boating a lot on the st croix river. You can swim, stay overnight on the beach make a camp fire and meet other boaters. It' s a very good brake after a long week at work.

If had to pick a place that would be your definition of a paradise in terms of scenic beauty, calming effect, as well as the best spot for spending a summer day or weekend the St. Croix River would win out on all counts. This body of water is one of the most popular places in the state in terms... More

You could easily spend three days working your way down the St Croix River! Taylors Falls, Stillwater, Hudson, Hasting, and Red Wing are just the main towns along the way. There is something for everyone along the way. My favorite destination is the Taylors Falls, MN area. You can take a river boat cruise, rent canoes, or my favorite which... More

It is the most beautiful river, calm and enviting. There is lots to look at when you visit the St. Croix, especially if you are traveling by boat.

The St. Croix River is very clean for a river. It's nice place to walk dogs. There is a lot of boating activity in the summer.
