I'll be sharing more specifics from our trip later, but let me say: the people are friendly, the drivers are friendly and cooperative, and the scenery is astounding. We come from the D.C, area with the worst, rudest drivers in the world, so coming here was worth it just for that! But besides that, there's nice camping and beautiful scenery.... More

A little expensive, but overall beautiful and memorable. A place where you can set the pace of having a peaceful, quiet time; or an energetic, active time. Historical and unique.

If you are in the area UP is a must go, all of the national parks area great but a few attractions are a must see. A great location for a road trip with many sights to see. I wish i could have stayed longer and go for a proper hike.

There are people who do not know that there is a beautiful place up there in UP in Michigan. There are those that say that the place is weird. I would say it is peculiarly awesome. There are a lot of places to see. Tahquamenon Falls, Mackinaw Bridge and Island are great places to see just to mention a few... More

I've read through the posts about the U.P. of Michigan, but for a southern girl, I need instructions how to get there. What is the closest commercial airport? I had read somewhere that cars weren't allowed on parts of the peninsula. Don't know if that's true. Of course all I know of the area is from the movie Somewhere In... More

This park on the shore of Lake Superior has a wide range of hiking opportunities, and an easy short path to look to the south over Lake of the Clouds. Don't miss the waterfalls (there are several). The walk to the observation tower is also worth the short hike. If you are looking to camp, there are some gorgeous sites... More

It is a beautiful place we stayed at the Tahquamenon Hotel in Hulbert MI. It is a perfect distance from the main attractions in the UP. It is right in the middle of Newberry and the Sue Locks and not to mention 20 minutes from Paradise and the Falls. Great place and great owners. Visit Oswald’s bear Ranch and. Whitefish... More

I have been going to the U.P. since I was a kid. And still to this day it makes me feel so amazing! There is so much to do there and see. If you love nature and lakes and just feeling relaxed, the U.P. is for you! Some people don't like the bugs, but hey, your in the middle of the woods,so... More

It's a peak year for Northern Lights and the summer is supposed to be hot and dry. Now is your chance to rent a cottage up north and enjoy it for all the beautiful waterfalls and scenery, both day and night. The stars and the sky are so clear and it is so calm and relaxing...make a trip up north... More

I live in the Upper Peninsula and it's great. It's a wonderful place to raise a family. It's beautiful up here, the lakes, beaches, trees, etc. I'll be the first to admit that we don't have alot of choices in restaurants, malls and other things that a big city has to offer but we can always go visit a city!!...
