The Upper Peninsula is a great place to visit. I've been on numerous color tours from St. Ignace all the way to Baraga. Beautiful in the Fall. I also try to get up there the last weekend in June (normally) for the classic car show that is in St. Ignace. Beautiful vehicles!!! Went on a helicopter ride one year. I... More

Such a pretty part of Michigan. Population is low. There are a lot of Mom and Pop type places to stay and eat.

Made a trip around the Upper Peninsula for a week. Highlights were the big spring or Kitchi-iti-kipi (Doesn't look like much but go on the raft and it is worth the wait), Presque Isle River and Black River falls, Lake of the Clouds, the entire Keweenaw peninsula, pictured rocks, whitefish point and Taquamenon Falls. About 1,000 miles. Fabulous country and... More

This was a beautiful area and we spent a week there but it is the most unfriendly place we have ever traveled too. The attraction are very, very difficult to find since they are not marked. The roads don't tell you how far the next town is and the people are not very friendly. When we asked for help the... More

We have made over twenty trips to the UP and speaking as a Trool I always look forward to our next visit. First stop as soon as you cross the BIG MAC and take in the beauty of the area. You could easily spend a week in this area alone. There are great campgrounds all around the area but let... More

If I don't get to the U.P. at least twice a summer, I have withdrawals. We were just there and the weather was just a bit chilly which made for some great hiking, since it kept the bugs a bay. It is easy to get around, and you can pack in lots of things to see within a day. Picture... More

Easy traveling on the Upper Peninsula, camped in Bay Furnace National Forest near Munsing which was great, right on Lake Superior. Be sure to check out the old smelter while you are there. Camped at Lake Gogebic State Park on the way back through and had the worst ever mosquito experience of my life. I have camped a lot and... More

I'll be sharing more specifics from our trip later, but let me say: the people are friendly, the drivers are friendly and cooperative, and the scenery is astounding. We come from the D.C, area with the worst, rudest drivers in the world, so coming here was worth it just for that! But besides that, there's nice camping and beautiful scenery.... More

A little expensive, but overall beautiful and memorable. A place where you can set the pace of having a peaceful, quiet time; or an energetic, active time. Historical and unique.
