A flat easy ride that is mostly paved. We started at the beginning of the trail and rode all the way to Concord and back, stopping for lunch in Lexington. As for bike rental, we paid $25/bike/per day from The Bike Exchange at Porter Square (2067 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02140, 617.864.1300). Just a heads-up: while the bikes were fine... More

I love biking the minuteman trail. It's about 11 miles long and Lexington is along the way which is a very bike friendly town if you need to stop for a break. The path is paved, very calm, in a wooded area and pretty flat. This is great for families, kids, roller blading, etc... There's a bike shop on the... More

For bike lovers this is really nice and has great views of the city.It is easy to bike or walk and it stays away from traffic enough to do it with children. Great path! The path around Arlington is really gorgeous and you can stop to see spy pond where they have places to sit and an outdoor park for... More

This trail winds its way from boston out to bedford. All hard top. Nice bike ride, but watch out for the bike commuters...they dont stop for nobody! But the trail is a mix of families with strollers, commuters, roller bladers and walkers. A little known fact is if you keep going past the end of the trail in Bedford down... More

If you have a beautiful day and want to go for a lovely walk in the woods, this is for you. The walk is pleasant and along the way you will learn about the events leading up to the American Revolutionary War. One thing I appreciate the most, is that they have marked the spots where British soldiers were killed.... More

The minuteman trail is full of history for everyone. We - non Americans - loved the visitor centre and its 25 minute 3 dimensional film that explained very well what happened on April 19. The trail itself is beautiful.

This trail is one of the nicest amenities in Cambridge, Arlington and Lexington. As others have noted it runs 11 miles from the Alewife T stop in north Cambridge to the old Bedford depot in Bedford. The trail is level and flat throughout, although there can be hazards -- bumps on the asphalt due to roots, silty patches and downed... More

Had not heard of the Minuteman Trail until we were searching for somewhere to visit for an afternoon. Video at Visitor Centre was excellent. You could walk or bike as far as you wanted on the trail. Interesting information on the stopping points on the trail. Brought to life the American Revolution, well worth going to.

I love this trail, nicely shaded and wonderful spots to stop for ice cream or coffee. (Lexington is the best - Peet's coffee or starbucks) The trail is mostly flat. You do get walkers who allow pets on long leaches so be careful, or the occasional child running across the trail so skate and bike respectfully and able to slow... More

What an easily accessible resource. Get out there and use it. It's free and you can hop on and hop off. Create your own walk!
