Yes, it's a bit far to trek to, being that there's really not much else to see but this site, but the cabin is the BEST one you'll see on your Little House site sojourn. It's a great feeling to be standing next to Pa's well, to see the home as he built it, and to sit inside it. Don't... More

“nice little museum”

This site is well off the beaten track but a must on our Little House summer tour. Located southwest of Independence on a county road, the original site of the Little House on the Prairie is marked by the well that Pa dug, now covered over (or filled in?). This it is only original indication of the Ingalls' family's residence.... More
