Interesting place. Seems to be a historical site where people have enjoyed hot spring water. The grounds are exactly beautiful, but they're nice. Camping in tents is free reign. We were passing through and thought we'd check this out. Was a nice night of camping. Lots of different family's. The is water looks like regular, nothing special, indoor swimming on... More

Attraction – 11309 Highway 78, Idaho, United States VERY RUSTIC facilities, camp and covered swimming pool in the Owyhee Desert of Southern Idaho just south of the Snake River on highway 78 between Homedale and the highway 45 junction. Ancient winter camp, turned homestead, then stage stop with travelers bathing facilities and now a swimming pool and campground. This is... More

Thank you, "Ma M" for your stay and for your review. We're glad you enjoyed your stay here. Most of your information is accurate, but I would like to clarify a few points. Our RV sites have 30 amp service (not 15). There is a well-stocked grocery store in Marsing, just 11 miles away, as well as several restaurants and... More

I've lived in Boise (50 miles or so distant) my entire life, and some of my earliest fond memories are of family trips to Givens' to swim. As an adult, I've visited with my wife and kids now and then... and at this point I'm also starting to bring grandkids. Givens' is NOT fancy. It won't provide that big-city or... More

I live in Oregon and when i come to or drive through Idaho I go out of my way to visit Givens. I have been coming here with my family and solo for close to ten years now. The water is great and the campground area is perfect for Rvs or pitching a tent. It is worth stopping at and... More

I have been coming to Givens Hot Springs regularly for 30 years and we find it welcoming The large pool is excellent for swimming and warm enough to soak what ever ails one. The staff is well trained lifeguards. The "natural" hot water is rotated out of the pool every 24 hours and is kept up with minimal chemicals. We... More

Thank you for your response, "Cheryl H." One of the greatest satisfactions we have comes from watching families enjoy the water, park, and each other. This has been a tradition at Givens for 134 years. More

It's a hot springs people! I feel really bad for the owners having to deal with all these negative reviews. It is not a luxery resort. I love taking my kids here, and my husband gets great benefits from the warm water as he has a lot of pain and leg muscle spasms. The pool is very therapeutic. Kudos to... More

Thank you "lovingidahooutdoors" for your positive comments. It's always gratifying when people recognize and appreciate what we do. I'm glad that the water helps your husband's health issues. The relief so many people get from it gives us some of our greatest satisfaction. Right along with that would be the enjoyment of watching families' interaction in the water. Actually, I... More

This place might have a lot of historical interest, but truly, it is in dire shape. There is most certainly mold on the walls, evident when you first walk in. We did agree to a tour of the place and tried not be unkind to the nice lady who showed us around. Ghastly, really ghastly. She also showed us a... More

We're sorry we didn't meet your expectations. Fortunately, we are visited by several hundred happy customers each week--thousands every year--who have a very different opinion and thoroughly enjoy our facility. We wish you well, and hope you found something to your liking down the road. More

When we first walked in, it didn't smell too bad. When we walked in the dressing room, I couldn't help myself from gagging by the smell. Once I started looking around, I saw what appeared to be mold on the ceiling and walls. spider webs were everywhere as well as spiders. any type of metal was beginning or in the... More

I’m going to address both “Most likely won’t come again” and “Spider Central” together, as I believe you both came to Givens with the same group, and have some of the same concerns. First, for “Spider Central”--A Background on Hot Springs in Idaho, 101. There are approximately 110 remote, undeveloped hot springs in Idaho, and 25 developed ones (more hot... More

Went there for a birthday party today-- was disgusted. The water was alright, however the facility needs major, & I mean MAJOR work. Daddy Long Legs EVERYWHERE, mold on ceilings, rust, & smelled of urine. It was my first time at a hotsprings & I was extremely disappointed. My friends were the only thing that made it worth while. This popular type hot spa is looked forward to by nearly everyone, so passing through we chose to stop the night in our RV. We noticed that the building is now being changed into a tropical tree growing venue as coming down through the roof, was a very large branch which in the future will be a very good bungy... More

Humorous and interesting cultural perspective of our place from Queensland, Australia! The “tropical tree growing venue” you mentioned is a volunteer trumpet vine which makes its way through the roof every spring. We don’t discourage it. About the middle of summer, it produces beautiful salmon-colored trumpet flowers—a lovely addition to the décor in the poolhouse. We don’t recommend bungee-jumping from... More
